Associated Press announced their findings of an in depth investigation into worldwide terror arrests and convictions. Their study concluded that about 30% of arrests ended in convictions.  However, the arrests of those who were indicted for actual terror events was remarkably low compared to those arrested for political dissent:

At least 35,000 people worldwide have been convicted as terrorists in the decade since the Sept. 11 attacks on the United States. But while some bombed hotels or blew up buses, others were put behind bars for waving a political sign or blogging about a protest.

In the first tally ever done of global anti-terror arrests and convictions, The Associated Press documented a surge in prosecutions under new or toughened anti-terror laws, often passed at the urging and with the funding of the West. Before 9/11, just a few hundred people were convicted of terrorism each year.

The sheer volume of convictions, along with almost 120,000 arrests, shows how a keen global awareness of terrorism has seeped into societies, and how the war against it is shifting to the courts. But it also suggests that dozens of countries are using the fight against terrorism to curb dissent and throw political opponents in jail.

  1. The old phrase, if you think it you did it. The real problem is, the courts aren’t suppose to try you over thoughts only on actions. I could think I went to the moon, doesn’t mean I did it !? So if you can twist the court up with this nonsense, next year, you’ll be enjoying witch burnings. Oh well, welcome to the return of Joan of Arc !

  3. Feed by Force; if we are not able to convince you by sending you and your children through our government run schools, what we have left is court force, so, like it or not you will submit or we will stop being nice by locking you up or quite simply ‘off with the head’ – the future of the ‘truth seeker’, in our mind is ‘lie or die’, keep the illusions alive.

  4. Only terrorists here are the federal pricks…….so there
(How’s that for my dissent piece?)
We all know who the terrorists are, they are the assholes who are trying to turn this place into a police state and shut down the US and make a 1 world government, in other words, It’s our own fucked up lying ass government who are the traitors, the deceivers, the LIARS…Get rid of these A-holes and the world would be @ a better peace.

I guess if you don’t like the administration, you’re suppose to be happy and shut your mouth ? You see a wrong, but you don’t say anything about it ? What kind of people do they think Citizens are ? You know, the Masons have a saying: “Conform with cheerfulness to the government of the country in which you live in.” The problem is, try it ? When you get falsely arrested, try being cheerful ? When you see others getting maimed or attacked, I want to see your conformity, maybe I can learn something from that “positive attitude”. It’s a mysterious positiveness anyway.

When you witness someone lying through their teeth, watch how people pay the liar; it always amazes me. I guess it all depends on the definition of “sex”, or what “is” is. When you understand a murder scene and call it an attack or an accident, then I know the citizens minds are seriously twisted.
