Three Crown Casino bouncers charged over a patron’s death have been released on bail.

Matthew Lawson, 26, of Hoppers Crossing, was charged with manslaughter over the incident at the Melbourne casino on July 3.

Security guards Cameron Paul Sanderson, 39, of Northcote, and Benjamin Michael Vigo, 23, of Hoppers Crossing, were charged with assault.

The three men appeared in the Melbourne Magistrates Court on Thursday for a filing hearing.

Lawson’s application for bail was not opposed, while the two other men are already on bail.

Anthony Dunning, 40, died in hospital four days after the alleged altercation with bouncers on his way out of the casino.

The Ferntree Gully man was allegedly held down on the floor by security staff.

The bouncers will continue to work at Crown while on bail.

“Pending the outcome of the court proceedings, the employees who have been charged will continue to perform alternate duties which require no contact with customers,” a statement from the casino said.

“Crown does not intend to make any further comment pending the verdict of the court.”

Magistrate Gregory McNamara ordered the men to return to court on January 17 next year for a committal mention.
