Israeli forces injure Palestinian boy

“A six-year-old Palestinian child was wounded by Israeli army gunfire near the Kerem Shalom crossing, east of Rafah,” emergency services spokesman Adham Abu Selmiya said.

“He is in moderate condition and was shot with live fire in his thigh,” he told AFP on Sunday.

The Israeli army had no immediate comment on the attack.

The shooting came amid an Egyptian-brokered truce that ended four days of Israeli attacks on Gazans.

At least 26 Palestinians were killed in dozens of airstrikes by the Israeli military.

Israeli forces regularly open fire on Palestinians, including children in the coastal enclave, which has been under a crippling blockade since five years ago.
