Phoenix Cop Only Gets Two Months In Jail For Raping Teen

cop-convicted

Before he raped an underage girl, Officer Justin LaClere asked her “Want a baby in ya?” As disturbing as this story is, the most troubling thing is the fact that this rapist cop just received a slap on the wrist – only two months behind bars.

The Phoenix police officer was sentenced last Friday to 60 days in jail even though it was acknowledged that he lured a minor into sex. The charges of sexual exploitation and sexual conduct with a minor – both felonies – notwithstanding, he received a sentence that in no way reflected the severity of what he did.

LaClere avoided a prison sentence of two to seven years by accepting a generous plea deal, given to him by the prosecutor who apparently wanted to give the officer special privileges.

Back in January of 2014, LaClere stalked his victim on a website called Whisper.

The officer, who used the name of “Jason69er,” asked the minor girl, “Want a baby in ya?”

“You’d be a beautiful pregnant mommy, heck maybe I’d help ya,” he added. “We should start making a baby since I want a young pregnant girlfriend. Is me being older okay?”

The girl even spelled out that what the officer was proposing was a crime, saying: “Yah, but I know my parents wouldn’t like it though [and] I’d be worried my dad would call the cops and have you arrested for sleeping with a minor since I’m not of legal age to sleep with you.”

LaClere had an answer: “Go home after school and if no one is there I will come in really quickly and have sex with you.”

The officer sent the girl pictures of himself in his police uniform. Eventually the girl told friends that an adult police officer was having sex with her. Word got around and the police were called.

LaClere resigned from the Phoenix Police Department before they were able to fire him. At sentencing, LaClere’s ex-wife requested the maximum sentence. She didn’t apparently realize the special treatment that is afforded to so many police officer who break the law.
