‘Right To Left is an unbiased documentary which details what it’s like to march in a patriot rally. Filmed on the 27th of April 2014 in Brighton UK, we join the groups which make up the ‘March For England’ event. We follow Tommy English, the leader of the LGBT division of the EDL as he joins his friends and family for what is advertised as a St.George’s day event. The clash of ideologies from both sides of the political spectrum collide with interesting results. The scenes of hostility and violence which is portrayed in the film is only a microcosm of the grander picture of activism around Europe at a time where there is a perceived rise in right wing organisations and political parties.
We set out on a journey to get these two sides to debate each other in a formal setting but instead ended up caught up in the conflict.’
