Jabhat Al-Nusra militants carried out a number of attacks on fighters from the Hazm Movement and Liwaa Al-Ansar in rural Idlib, killing many combatants and seizing a large cache of weapons and ammunition. According to a source in Idlib, Jabhat Al-Nusra was able to take control of a Hazm Movement checkpoint in the Ma’arat Al-Numan District before a ceasefire was issued. Meanwhile, at Kafr Nabl, Jabhat Al-Nusra also clashed with Liwaa Al-Ansar, exchanging rounds of gunfire before the fighting dissipated this afternoon.

The city of Idlib has been completely secured by the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and National Defense Forces (NDF) after fierce firefights earlier today. According to a military source, Tal Al-Mastouma is under SAA control and Al-Mastouma Road has been reopened. Despite Syrian Opposition claims of capturing the Governor’s Mansion and the Governor himself, Dr. Kheiraldeen Al-Sayyid made a public appearance yesterday, visiting the families of the civilians killed by rebel mortar shells.
