First of all, I would like to say to the public that “GORDY” you are a fucking IDIOT and should not even respond to anything on this site.

Now that that is out of the way, in response to Cap. and scoutsniper, I firmly believe this country needs a revolution. I’ve been stocking up on guns n gear for years now. The problem is that the definition of revolution has gotten quite complicated. Anyone can riot and start shooting folks. But a revolution in todays world is going to take alot more creativity. Capt. asked one time on another post “How or who will be the call of action. I’ve been asking myself the same question since then. I am also a cavalry scout sniper and all I need is to get within a mile of the target. So what do you think the call to action will be? Also, how much shit are we going to take from our own government before we do something to stop whats happening.

The Marines did have cavalry units. Most notably in China, where the 4th Marines had a mounted (on horses) division from about 1907 until the Marines left China in 1941.

Did you serve back then?

The MOS for Marine scout snipers or Marine Force Recon scout sniper is MOS 0317, formerly 8541.

The US army has no specified designation for snipers. They are referred to as ” Additional Skill Identifier” or, “B4″ US Army. They call them snipers but there is no official MOS for them and are usually selected for Special Forces/Special Operations/ Special Service.(SSG) (LRS) (LRR) The US Army has designated squad marksman (SDM-R) The Corps has a squad advanced marksman.

As “cavalry” is a US Army designate, and scout sniper is a US Marine Corps designate, could you explain how you are a combination of both saying that you were a “cavalry scout sniper”?

Never heard of that before.

I like the little piece of history on the China Marines, well done, they road Mongolian ponies. I never realized there was an actual designation for Force Recon Scout Sniper, I was an 0351, but I was in a line company so I was a SMAW gunner. I guess you learn something new everyday

Line company also carries a rocket launcher and breaching explosives and maybe a mortar, right? The M249 is exceptional. I heard that some units carry a recoiless rifle as well.

I was in back in the late 80′s and early 90′s so I might be dated on weapons and designations within the Marine company
Line company assaultman carried the Shoulder Launched Multi-purposed Assault weapon (SMAW) an 83 mm bunker busting rocket, but it also has an anti-armor capability. It is true that the 0351 does on occasion carry the old satchel charge but the SMAW is the primary weapon for the 0351 in the line company. Now in a Weapons company the 0351 carries the Dragon, at least they did from 1988-1994. The Mortarman is an 0341 and in the line company they use the 60mm mortar. In the Weapons company they use the 81mm mortar. As far as the M249 squad automatic weapon (SAW) that was carried in the fire team by an 0311 who is designated as an automatic riflemen. So every squad should have 3 automatic riflemen. Now the 0331 in the line company had the M-60 E3 machinegun and in the Weapons company they used the M-2 .50 caliber machinegun and the Mk19 automatic grenade launcher.

So a Company Commander in a line company could decide to attach different company level assets to the platoons for the Platoon leaders to use in conducting the assigned mission.

Now I never saw Mortars attach to a Platoon but they did have a small base plate for attachment so I guess it would be possible. As an 0351 we were almost always assigned to a rifle platoon for our bunker busting capabilities.

As far as the recoiless rifle is concerned, I guess you could say that a SMAW is very similar to the old recoiless rifle, as the SMAW does have a condiderable backblast area and there is no recoil but the rocket on a SMAW is screwed on to the back of the launcher not loaded in the tube.

Wow I haven’t discussed this stuff in a long time.

Bellon, Recon was claiming that they were readily used by all military prior to the Hague Peace Convention of 1899 when that was the meeting that made them the standard. Bellon this also came about from Recon claiming FMJ’s have more stopping power when they do not and it is why the military uses them. It is a matter of historical fact that military use FMJ’s because the leaders at the Hague Peace Conference wanted to be able to return more troops to service after being wounded because wounded prior to this meant more often then not a soldier was permanently out of commission due to the shattering of bones and evisceration of vital organs.

Stopping power is taking out your target, not putting a clean little hole through them so they can keep advancing or be patched up and put back into service. I tried to explain this to Recon and he turned around and started spewing verbal diarrhea claiming I didn’t know what I was talking about.

Recon in another response tried to claim that FMJ’s tumble and that is why they do more damage after telling how accurate they are. The only way a FMJ tumbles is if it is shot out of a burned out barrel and then they have little to no accuracy at any distance. Lead rounds have more stopping power because they impact and in the process mushroom, crush, or spall. That in part is why Black Talons and Hydra Shocks are illegal which are comprised mostly of lead.

So before you jump on his bandwagon and open your mouth to try to make me look a fool, it would be best to look at every article this has been a discussion in then get the big picture.

Hey dad, they may not be after you, but the paranoids are definitely after me.
Well I don’t claim to be a sniper but I am ex military and a true patriot. I have only been awake now for about a year so I’m a little behind the 8-ball. So far I’ve picked up a Saiga-12 and a Bushmaster AR-15. Being a blue collar working american I’m stocking up on what I can when I can. Next spring I’m picking up a .40 cal and my concealed carry permit. This year I paid off all my debts and started saving every silver ingot I could get my hands on. Hopefully I can add some gold to that stash soon.

I don’t plan on leading any uprisings but when the SHTF I will terminate any threat to me and my family with extreme prejudice.

For the record I consider reconscoutsniper one of the good guys so I’m with you bro.

Did I mention what a joy it is blasting a mag full of 3 inch magnums thru the ole’ Saiga? I highly recommend picking one up if you have the means.

Well I wouldn’t spend all my money on MRE’s. Study up on nutrition. Everything a growing boy needs can be found in a can. Even though you won’t find a T bone steak in a can, beans and peanuts are a great source of protein. You can get canned fruit and vegetables in great variety so why not spend an extra $50 in canned goods every time you go grocery shopping just to build up your stash. Also pack away more than one MANUAL can opener. You’d feel quite silly starving to death among a large pile of canned goods with no power and an electric can opener. Thats the kind of scenario one would expect from geniuses like citizen dildo.
