An L-plater and his supervising driver have been caught drink-driving in Sydney’s west, police say.
Police were patrolling Maloney Street, Blacktown, about 2am (AEST) on Friday when they spotted a white Mitsubishi Magna being driven erratically.
The car was stopped a short time later and police gave the 21-year-old driver – who obtained his learner’s licence two months ago – and his supervisor, also 21, a breath test.
Both allegedly returned positive results and were arrested and taken to a local police station for more tests.
According to police, the learner driver returned a reading of 0.110, while the supervising driver blew 0.084.
Learners are not permitted to have any alcohol in their system when they drive.
Both have been charged with mid-range PCA (prescribed concentration of alcohol) and will appear in Blacktown Local Court at a later date.
