No reason has been reported yet for the shootings that occurred in Phoenix suburb in Gilbert, Arizona, on Wednesday.
Authorities said that the gunman was armed with several firearms, including two handguns and a shotgun, which were recovered from the scene, but his identity was not immediately known.
“Officers responded to a phone call on shots being fired. When they arrived on the scene, they found four victims dead. One child was transported (to hospital) and later died. We believe the shooter could be one of those victims,” Dana Berchman, a municipal spokeswoman for Gilbert town said, adding that the child was a girl aged between one and three years.
Gilbert police Sergeant Bill Balafas said that the shooter had committed suicide.
