The New Democracy conservatives yesterday said before coalition talks broke
down that they would talk to all parties “with a view to forming a
government, except Golden Dawn”. The Syriza party is also unlikely to
co-operate with them.
In the 2009 election the party received a mere 0.29 per cent. Its supported
jumped as a wave of anti-immigrant sentiment spread amid high unemployment
and resentment at the financial rescue plan imposed by Brussels.
