Actor and comedian Carlo Goias, who uses the stage name Carlo Bellario, is facing hard time in prison after being arrested and charged with felony possession of a firearm. If found guilty Goias will be facing a ten-year prison sentence because of a prior record… the only problem? The gun was a toy and Goias was filming a movie.

It all started when Goias was playing the body guard of a drug dealer in an unfinished film for a low-budget film company. In the scene, Goias pretended to shoot his gun out of the window of a car that is involved in a car chase in a residential neighborhood. Apparently, several neighbors were unaware that the film was shooting in their neighborhood and called to report the event to the police. Later that day the police arrived and arrested Goias for being in possession of an Airsoft gun

 

The actor spent four days in prison as his friends and family scraped together the $10K bail needed to have him released.

The District Attorney then offered Goias a plea deal that would have sent him to prison for up to a year, but now he faces a much harsher penalty — up to 10 years in prison, for his supposed “crime.”

“I was shooting a movie — I wasn’t committing a crime intentionally,” Goias recently told The Associated Press. “Robert De Niro
