On Wednesday, Britain’s Ministry of Defense announced that the soldier injured in Afghanistan last week died of his wounds, AP reported.
The soldier died at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham.
The soldier serving with 33 Engineer Regiment had been wounded on April 11 and was flown back to the UK for treatment, according to the Defense Ministry.
Wednesday’s death brings the number of British forces killed in Afghanistan to 409, according to official figures released by the website icasualties.org.
The latest death comes less than two weeks after Corporal Jack Stanley from The Queen’s Royal Hussars died at the hospital of injuries he sustained in another attack.
