AFTER THE YES VOTE – WHAT WE MUST DO

Congratulations to the 40% who resisted the scare tactics and sleight of hand tricks by the sleazy government operators, who tried to hide the terminal slide of the euro from the voters on May 31.

As Gerry Adams emphasized in his blog, they won a pyrrhic victory, for there is no way Ireland can stay afloat on the deck of the Titanic which has already hit its iceberg and is sinking fast.

Now we must look to the future to save the nation and its people, as well as our friends in Europe who are also trying to extricate themselves from this deadly web.

At the European Central Bank (ECB) meeting today (Wednesday) the ECB spokesman said there would be no reward for Ireland’s yes vote, while in the Dail, Gilmore paid pious “tribute” to the democratic will of the Irish people who he had scared to death a week before, as he tried motivating passage of the “short, technicalities” of the ESM protocol which is the follow on to the austerity treaty.

Of course, the problem with the yes vote is that we are now squarely in the euro box trap that was set out and baited for us. But none of the desperate measures the euro toadies are putting forward from day to day will work. We must get out of the monetarist trap that’s past its expiration date and choose the real republican plan constructed for us by Alexander Hamilton in the American defeat of the British Empire, and adopted by our own revolutionary heroes. We must ourselves construct a credit system based on real physical production, return to our sovereign currency and stop the bailouts with the Glass-Steagall principle.

It is that 40% who stood their ground and voted NO, who must now constitute themselves the Gideon’s Army who will put our proud civilization back together again. Welcome to the fight.
