GAZA, (PIC)– Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, said it backs the Palestinian reconciliation, but it should not be with parties working for the Israeli occupation and the Americans.
“The reconciliation must be built on national foundations and a program of genuine resistance against the occupation, but it is unacceptable to do it with a party seeking to erase the resistance from the Palestinian arena,” spokesman for Al-Qassam Brigades Abu Obeida said in a statement published on Monday by the Saudi newspaper Asharq.
“We hope there can be an honest intention to reach reconciliation, confront the occupation and join forces for the sake of the Palestinians,” the spokesman added.
“The Arab spring is in favor of the Palestinian cause, and we have known since the beginning that the Arab peoples are vigilant and standing on the side of our cause,” he underscored.
As for the Israeli war threats against Gaza, the spokesman affirmed that Al-Qassam Brigades is prepared for the worst and has taken such threats seriously, and warned that the Brigades are much stronger than before and could respond very strongly and painfully if the occupation felt tempted to do such folly once again.
