Since America has abandoned its mission in space, it is up to the Europeans to save us from looming catastrophe, and they have thankfully picked up the slack.

The European Space Agency is planning to launch a robotic probe that, by 2015, will rendezvous with an asteroid and release an impacter that will collide with the asteroid in the hopes that the asteroid’s trajectory is thrown off course. A companion probe will then monitor the course of the asteroid to see if we are all still f***ked.

The mission has been dubbed Don Quixote, after the folktale of a delusional old man flails hopelessly at windmills in a vain quest to realize his imagined potential alongside a stumpy sidekick named Sancho. The parallels are eerie.

  1. here’s what I think is really going on on this subject: They have the technology to go and land on an asteroid and since they can do that they can steer it and slam it into the planet.

    • I do not know where to post this,so here I am.Nano technology is big.so is mapping every square inch of the world.I will admit that i think TOO MUCH!If it is productive or not,I cannot stop.So suppose that they are able to produce mini nuke missiles ,fully functional with guidance and all other things to make them accurate and useful. Then they make super cluster bombs packed with thousands of them. Each missile is programed to take out a specific residence. There is no massive radiation contamination.Precision strikes have been done, setting an example for the rest.If you live in the city or the countryside it would not matter. All arms that we own would be rendered worthless.A strike like this could be carried out worldwide. With one blow .Sending out 2 missile per target ,would ensure a good rate of kills.Just thinking ,I wish I could stop.My mind will not give me rest until I am dead.Death may be welcomed. But not by my hands.

  2. Hello! Its called blow it up and have one or twenty others waiting in line. Try to get something out there to grab some particles afterwards. Why are these things so hard for “rocket scientists” to understand? If this is a real threat one or two failsafes is not enough.

    • Sounds about right. The government is big on false flags and creating a disaster is more like the idea behind these goals . That way they can Holographically place UFO’s over the cities they are bombing and then blame it on Aliens. That way they can scare the already scared stupid Americans to give up more of their rights.

  3. horseshit, I am not going to jump thru hoops signing up with some asshole website to read that article.

  4. Apophis is supposed to miss us in 2035. What if those idiots jolt it the wrong way and it DOES hit us? This is a dangerous game the ESA is playing in which they know very little about!!!

  5. WTF? clicked read more? it’s just some dodgy website with a still shot of Bruce willis from the film… no text or explanation… plus the ‘source..ology’ seems to be parroting the same old mainstream garbage regarding the republican situation… no mention of Ron Paul
