At least 17 injured in shooting at downtown Tuscaloosa bar

Tuscaloosa, Alabama – At least 17 people were injured in an early morning shooting at a bar in downtown Tuscaloosa.

A man walked up to Copper Top in Temerson Square near Fourth Street and 23rd Avenue around 12:30 a.m. and fired into the bar, according to a witness.

Tuscaloosa police released photos taken from surveillance footage of the suspect. The TPD also posted video of the suspect on its Facebook page.

Seventeen people were treated at DCH Regional Medical Center, which was put on lockdown after the shooting. Two people were in critical condition early this morning, according to a nursing supervisor at DCH Regional Medical Center.

Tuscaloosa police are holding a news conference at 10 a.m. Tuesday morning.
