The duo will present the repertoire ‘Qasida’ accompanied by Iranian Kamancheh player Sina Jahanabadi, Mehr News Agency reported.
“Persian and Spanish music, especially flamenco, have common roots,” Motamedi said adding “I have, however, tried to preserve the Persian spirit of the songs by using traditional Persian music and classical Persian poetry written by Hafez and Baba Taher.”
Motamedi has presented Qasida in several music festivals including the 2011 Dutch Flamenco Biennial where he was also accompanied by La Tremendita.
La Tremendita is one of the most successful flamenco artists of her country and has performed in many prestigious festivals and competitions.
She has shared the stage with many prominent artists such as Manuel Mairena, Chano Lobato, El Nano de Jerez, Maria Conejo, Gaspar de Urtrera, D. Manuel Bohorquez, Jose de la Tomasa, Antonio Carrion, Triana Pura, Sara Baras, Francisco Cespedes, Marife de Triana, Maria del Monte and Fangoria.
The Ciutat Flamenco Festival will run from May 23 to 26 in Barcelona.
