President Barack Obama’s now-infamous “you didn’t build that” line about entrepreneurs is an “astonishing” example of how the president reveals his true antipathy against the free enterprise system when he’s speaking off-the-cuff sans teleprompter, NewsBusters publisher Brent Bozell told Fox Business Network anchor Stuart Varney on the July 19 edition of Varney Co.
“This is a man who said that he wanted to redistribute wealth. This is the man who has given signs of this all throughout his administration,” the Media Research Center founder added. “I’m going to stick my neck out, the last person” who attributed the success of the free enterprise system to government, not business owners, “was Karl Marx,” he added. Earlier in the segment, Bozell and Varney discussed both the media’s bias for Obama and how it influences public opinion.
“Romney should be ahead by 20 points” because “this is a disaster of an economy,” Bozell argued, adding that both Romney’s poor messaging and the media’s determination to “do everything in their power to take the American attention off of this dismal economy.”
