European court of human rights president criticises UK reforms
Guardian – The British president of the European court of human rights has criticised the UK’s proposed reforms for the Strasbourg court and called for more funds to tackle the massive backlog of cases. Addressing a conference in Brighton of ministers from the 47 member states of the Council of Europe, Sir Nicholas Bratza welcomed the fact that UK attempts to narrow the criteria for admissibility of cases had been deferred.
