A South Australian man has been charged with murdering mother-of-three Sally Brooks who died 10 days after being bashed in her home in Melbourne’s east.

Ms Brooks’ former husband, Robert Meade, appeared in the Melbourne Magistrates Court this afternoon on a murder charge after being arrested in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs this morning.

He did not apply for bail and was remanded to appear again on February 1 next year.

Ms Brooks died in hospital on July 11, the day she and her children were due to fly home to England after living in Australia for 16 years.

She was found unconscious after being attacked and beaten in her Limassol Court home in Donvale on July 1.
