Days of Palestine, Gaza Strip –Palestinian father, whose baby, pregnant wife, were killed in Israeli airstrike early this week asks: “Why did they killed my angel?”
Yahya Hassan, the Palestinian father from Gaza, who lost his wife, his 2-year-old daughter and his house in an Israeli airstrike targeted adjacent farmland, is still facing psychological strains from time to time; however, he is wounded and still in hospital.
“Whenever I look at her picture in the mobile, I faint,” Hassan said. “She is my heart’s butterfly.”
Hassan is still able to recall the last minutes he spent with his pregnant wife Nour, 30, and his daughter Rahaf before the Israeli missile took their lives.
“Unlike everyday, I played with Rahaf for a long time before she went to bed,” he said. “I loved her too much and I had never thought about the time to live without her,” he added.
While looking at her picture on his mobile, tears descended from his eye and he ask: “What is her fault to be killed by the Israeli occupation? What is the fault of my pregnant wife to be killed, too? The Israeli occupation killed them in a cold blood.”
Yahya, who was injured in his head and his leg, said: “When the first strike took place, my wife screamed: ‘What is this Yahya? What happened?’ My little daughter said: ‘Dady, I do not want to die.’”
He continued: “Just seconds later, another rocket turned our house into rubble and silenced my wife and my little daughter forever.”
“I started screaming while I was moving the rubble to search for my wife and my little daughter,” he said, “I felt something tearing my heart before I faint. I woke up in the hospital to know that my wife Nour and my little daughter Rahaf passed away.”
Yahya asked her relative to bring his little daughter to give her the last huge while he was in hospital bed. In a short video when viral on social media, Yahya called on his daughter to come back to life.
