FDA Says It Will Deny Request To Ban BPA

White Oak, Maryland (CNN) — The Food and Drug Administration announced Friday it will deny the National Resources Defense Council’s petition asking it to prohibit the use of bisphenol A, commonly known as BPA, in products manufactured in the United States.

However, the federal agency stressed the announcement is not a final safety determination and it continues to support research examining the safety of BPA.

In 2008, the council submitted a petition asking the FDA to regulate the use of BPA in human food and food packaging. The FDA had been silent since the petition was filed more than 41 months ago. The council finally, last December, sued the administration to get some form of action. Friday’s announcement is a response to that suit.

BPA is a chemical used in many consumer products, including clear and hard plastics called polycarbonate used in water and soda bottles, as well as in the resin linings of food and beverage cans and containers of infant formula.

  1. If you think sunshine is good for you, then you’re a dirty conspiracy theorist. If you think fluoride, BPA, GMOs, and Aspartame are bad for you, then you’re a domestic terrorist…probably one of those Sovereigns. Ignorance is Patriotism.

  2. Drink innocent baby. Your chances of getting breast cancer from consumption of Bisphenol-A from birth will increase in quantums, the likelihood of getting other cancers at a young age will skyrocket too due to hyperfeminization. You will probably start getting your periods at age 8 and be ready to have children with even more cancer at age 9.

If the baby is boy, drink innocent baby. Your chances of having some of the lowest sperm counts in the history of man are now real. Expect that you will also develop feminine characteristics (perhaps male breasts) and possibly become exclusively gay because your hormone balance will be thrown into turmoil. If you marry, it will be almost impossible to have children.

JUST SAY NO TO BISPHENOL-A AND AVOID IT EVERYWHERE AT ALL COSTS. IT IS ONLY YOUR HEALTH AND FUTURE THAT IS AT STAKE HERE. WHOLE NATIONS HAVE BANNED IT. THE CORRUPT FDA WANTS IT FOR AMERICA. IT IS ALSO GREAT FOR BIG PHARMA AND THE CANCER RACKET.

If whole nations can say no, you can say NO too!

  4. I guess the FDA are seeking their reservations for Hell!!

  5. The only place “ban” is necessary is on bodyodor.de.

  6. If it’s bad, don’t “ban” it… just don’t use it. That way we don’t have to create a “war” on something to change unhealthy patterns of consumption.

    • Unfortunately, BPA is almost everywhere and most of the time, not even mentioned.
Hard to avoid something you can’t see.

  7. Ban? We don’t need no stinkin’ ban.
