A federal judge in Las Cruces has sentenced a gun dealer to 60 months in prison for supplying a ring that smuggled arms to Mexican cartels.
Dealer Ian Garland was the second of 14 people charged in the conspiracy to be sentenced. All have pleaded guilty.
Other defendants include the former police chief, former mayor and a former trustee from the New Mexico border town of Columbus.
