Iran’s cultural week kicked off in Ataturk Cultural Center on Wednesday with the participation of Iranian and Turkish officials as well as scores of people interested in the Iranian culture and art.

The Iranian cultural attaché in Turkey, Abolhassan Khalaj Monfared, said that the event will run until July 2 in the Turkish cities of Ankara and Konia.

An Exhibition of Persian art and tradition is also to be mounted during the event in a bid to introduce Iran’s cultural and artistic capacity to the Turkish visitors, Monfared said.

He added that Persian arts, including visual arts, painting, miniature, illumination and calligraphy, along with photo galleries will be displayed during the week. In addition, there would also be a Persian language section in order to introduce Persian literature and Iranian books.

Live traditional music and Naqqali, dramatic storytelling as well as Zurkhaneh (house of strength) sport performances will also be presented during the event.
