Iran to start gas exports to Pakistan by 2017

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iran’s Ambassador to Islamabad Mehdi Honardoost says Iran can start gas exports to Pakistan by 2017.

Pakistan’s Daily newspaper, based in Islamabad,  quotes Honardoost as saying that the two neighbors have recently been in talks for the purpose.

He said Iran has paid its due share by extending the gas export pipeline to Pakistan border at a cost of two billion dollars.

He said talks are also underway for export of electricity to Pakistan.

He hoped that volume of trade between Iran and Pakistan would reach the level of five billion dollars.
