IS WalMart RFID Technology Being Installed?

A message form a viewer, concerned over the recent WalMart closing in the area. The message received brought up a point on the recent renovations being reported on their store closure.

Am I the only one that thinks that Jade Helm is all about implementing the RFID Chip???

Is everyone just going to line up peacefully and accept the chip? Or will this cause civil unrest?

People will not be able to buy, sell or trade. No job, no food, no water, nothing without the chip!!

Tampa, Florida — Walmart has come out with an official statement regarding the closing of the Brandon store due to plumbing issues.

Walmart spokesperson Amanda Henneberg has released the following:

With the assistance of contractors and mechanical engineers we have undergone a comprehensive process to identify the plumbing repairs and upgrades the store will receive. We are now ready to begin requesting some of the initial permits that may be needed to begin demolition for the work required while we finalize the design plans for submittal to the city for review. We still anticipate reopening the store within the next six months, in time for the holiday season.

Given the unique circumstances of the temporary closure, we continue to focus on our associates and have added benefits and made a series of policy exceptions, including identifying transfer opportunities for more than half of the associates who have requested to continue working at local area stores, offering severance pay for part-time associates and committing to return associates to the same rate of pay or higher if they are rehired for the same job.

The store has apparently undergone a comprehensive process to identify the plumbing repairs and upgrades the store will receive, and are finalizing plans for some of the work needed to re-open the store within the next six months.

10 News learned that some of the repairs and upgrade to the stores include, demolition to repair sagging, damaged, and obstructed sanitary plumbing lines throughout the building and installation of all new plumbing, fixtures and finishes; installation of new sanitary plumbing system to support existing operations and revised grocery layout; new design and layout for the fresh (meat, produce, bakery and dairy areas), baby and electronics enhanced electronics departments; updated equipment in register lineup; enhanced and more convenient Pick-Up locations; and a new roof and new 4,000 square foot liquor store expansion

Workers will remain employed until June 19. Walmart will help many of them find jobs at other stores, and some benefits have been added and policy exceptions made to provide flexibility in the process, including severance pay to part-time associates who have been with the company for more than a year and for whom we have not found a position through a transfer; committing to return associates (within 60 days of the store’s reopening at the same rate of pay or higher if they are rehired to the same job; and honoring associates’ hire date (anniversary) for re-hires.

Meanwhile the viewer makes a valid point, indicating the stores have never brought up repairs to the roof of a NEW building, nor restructuring the layout. All these extras seem suspicious due to a plumbing issue. Its interesting to note that no other area Malls or structures around these WalMarts are having to repair their stores as well. Most are in Mini-Malls and would have had the same contractors who originally built the malls. Why are they not having to close and re-construct?
