Israeli MPs approve ‘strip-search’ against Palestinians

Days of Palestine, West Bank –Israeli Knesset approved on Monday evening new law that authorises Israeli troops to conduct ‘strip-search’ against Palestinians.

Law and Legislation Committee in the Israeli Knesset, which approved the law, said that the strip-search is to be conducted against “reasonable suspects.”

However, according to the Israeli MKs definition, the “reasonable suspects” are the Palestinians passing through Israeli checkpoints and walk near to illegal Israeli settlements scattered across the occupied West Bank.

Since the start of Al-Quds Intifada, the Israeli Knesset has approved a number of racial laws targeting the Palestinians in occupied Palestine and occupied Palestinian territories.

Strip-search, which the Israeli occupation has been conducting against Palestinians a longtime before it was approved by the Knesset, is a flagrant violation of numerous international laws and conventions.
