Israeli occupation destroys 7 shops in West Bank

Days of Palestine, West Bank -Israeli occupation forces destroyed on Thursday morning seven Palestinian shops in Bal’in Village, west of West Bank city of Ramallah.

Sources said that the Israeli occupation forces also confiscated a number of caravans used as mobile shops, including goods worth thousands of USDs.

Mohamed Ghaizan, one of the owners of the shops, told Days of Palestine that the Israeli bulldozers, protected by heavy number of Israeli occupation troops, stormed that village at midnight.

“Upon their arrival, they started demolishing the shops without previous notices,” Ghaizan said. “They intentionally damaged the goods inside these shops.”

He also said that the demolition of the shops lasted for at least three hours. “Owners attempted to get some of their goods, but the Israeli troops prevented them,” he said.

About the reason behind the demolition, Ghaizan said that the shops had been built without getting the needed Israeli permissions.

“We apply for building permissions and pay multiplied fees, but the Israeli occupation authorities keep delaying and procrastinating for years,” he said, “and at the end they say we do not meet the needed demands for the permissions.”
