Israeli occupation kills Palestinian in West Bank

Days of Palestine, West Bank –Israeli occupation forces killed Palestinian policeman at an Israeli military checkpoint in the West Bank city of Ramallah, claiming he shot wounded three soldiers.

The Israeli checkpoint is located in around the illegal Israeli settlement of Beit El, which is built on the land of the Palestinian city of Ramallah.

Witnesses said that the Israeli occupation soldiers opened fire at the Palestinian, while he was driving to cross the checkpoint.

“Suddenly, we heard sound of automatic gun machine,” Ali Saidam, an eyewitness, told Days of Palestine. “I looked around and found that the Israeli soldiers had shot the Palestinian.”

According to the eyewitness, the Israeli occupation soldiers prevented medical assistance to the Palestinian Amjad al-Sokkari, 34, from Nablus.

Israeli media reported Israeli army spokesperson claiming that the Palestinian policeman had opened fire at the Israeli soldiers at the checkpoint.

The spokesperson said that three Israeli soldiers were wounded, according to the Israeli media.

Since the start of January, the Israeli occupation forces killed 21 Palestinians and wounded more than 400 in the Gaza Strip, the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem.
