Israeli occupation to shutdown mosques

Days of Palestine, Jerusalem –Israeli occupation MKs would propose bill calling government to close mosques in occupied Palestine, credible sources told Days of Palestine on Sunday.

The bill would propose on the Israeli occupation government to shutdown mosques or any structure, which are claimed by Zionist Israelis to be used for incitement.

According to our sources, the extremist Israeli Jewish MK Bezalel Smotrich proposed the bill at the end of last year and it was turned down.

However, Smotrich, from the extremist right-wing Israeli party Jewish Home, mobilised other MKs from other parties to propose it again in a form of collective proposal in order to be able to impose their view on the other MKs.

The bill is inspired by similar initiatives in France and a call by Donald Trump, a candidate for the Republican nomination for President of the US.

The explanatory portion of the proposed bill states: “studies show that sometimes criminal terrorist actions are a result of wild incitement by religious figures in mosques who give speeches that inflame those present to go out to wage jihad in the name of God.

“Such behaviour was prohibited years ago in the penal code, but the law does not relate to the place in which the incitement and calls to violence happen,” the bill explains.

Smotrich accused the Gulf States of support Palestinians, whom he considered as terrorist. “The well-oiled Arab incitement machine is the platform on which terrorism grows, and the time has come to take care of it,” he said.

“We cannot allow mosques to be used as fertile ground for incitement and terrorism. We are saying enough. Enough incitement in the name of religion, enough murder in the name of religion.”

He said that closure of mosques would help bring back Israeli deterrence and send a clear message that any place that houses incitement would be shut down.
