(Scroll down for video and lyrics) Chanukah is a time to reflect and connect. Many kids connect to their Jewish roots on the holiday of chanukah. ‘The What’s Up Band’, is a band known for its wonderful concerts for children and their pre-concert musical workshops.

Members of the band perform  in schools, camps and synagogues. The workshops allow children to perform together with the band.

Through their amazing performances the ‘The What’s Up Band’  further connects children to their Jewish roots.

The band is a Connecticut-based U.S. Jewish Rock ‘n Roll Band. They have released a music video titled ‘Pass It On’.

The song emphasizes the importance of teaching children about Jewish history, reminiscing and passing it on from one generation to the next.

Members of ‘The What’s Up Band’ have acted together on Broadway and on television. They have toured throughout the U.S. and abroad for three decades.

Lyrics:

A candle burns
New light is born
Eight arms of strength
Eight nights of warm

Remember the past
Remember the fight
Eight arms of hope
Eight nights of light
Pass it on….

A hammer’s blow
From years of hate
Restored our souls
Restored our faith

With hope so strong
New days will dawn
From strength to strength
We journey on

Pass it on…

Pass it on, pass it on
Pass it on, pass it on (2X)

Few thousand years strong
We learn from our past
Passed on through generations.

We grow, and we remember…

Guitar solo mod up 1 step

A parent’s prayer
A child’s song
A grandparent’s gift
A tradition strong

The flame still burns
We carry on
Eight arms of strength
Eight nights of warm

Pass it on, pass it on
Pass it on, pass it on (2X)

We’re here today
And still we grow
We all are different
Yet we all know
Our strength is light
We sing as one one
For all our children (Yeah)

(We)
Pass it on, pass it on
Pass it on, pass it on…
