A memorial service will be held for Margaret Whitlam in Sydney on Friday.
Mrs Whitlam, the revered wife of former prime minister Gough Whitlam, died last week aged 92.
The service will be held at St James Anglican Church in central Sydney from 4pm (AEST)
Mrs Whitlam is widely recognised as one of the few wives of prime ministers to have touched the Australian people independently of their husbands.
She is survived by her husband, her four children Antony, Nicholas, Stephen and Catherine, her grandchildren Alex, Alice, Helen, Edward and Peter, and her great-grandchildren Oscar, Isabella, Charlotte and Sam.
