Hundreds of employees from Egypt’s national carrier and officials from the Civil Aviation Ministry arrived at Al-Mosheer Tantawy Mosque in New Cairo to attend the ceremony in solidarity with the families of the victims.

Prayers were also held at various mosques in Cairo and Giza on Friday, just one day after the crash.

Dozens of EgyptAir employees organized a candle light vigil Monday at the company’s Operation Center at Cairo International Airport to commemorate the 10 crew members who were on board flight MS804 en route to Cairo from Paris, according to Youm7.

It is unclear what caused the plane to crash in the final minutes before it disappeared off radar at around 2.45 a.m. local time Thursday. The plane crashed halfway between Egypt’s Alexandria and Crete Island.

Ships and planes from the U.S., Britain, Cyprus, France and Greece and the Egyptian Armed Forces are taking part in the search for the debris from the Airbus 320, which crashed 290 kilometers north of Egypt’s Mediterranean city of Alexandria.

On Saturday, the first images of the debris from the crash were released by the Egyptian military. The images included airplane interior and passengers’ belongings.

Investigations to determine the cause of the crash are ongoing.
