Missing mum’s cars may hold clue: police

Police have released images of two four-wheel drives belonging to the family of missing Brisbane mother Allison Baden-Clay in the hope of uncovering clues to her disappearance.

They want to speak to anyone who saw the Baden-Clay family 4WDs last Thursday evening or Friday morning.

The cars have been impounded but police are urging anyone who saw either of the vehicles around the time Mrs Baden-Clay vanished to come forward.

“The local community has been a huge help with this case and we are hoping more calls will come in relating to these vehicles,” Detective-Superintendent Mark Ainsworth said in a statement.

The 43-year-old Brookfield woman was reported missing by her husband Gerard Baden-Clay on Friday morning after she failed to return to her Brookfield home, in Brisbane’s west.

She was last seen at 10pm (AEST) the previous day.

A large contingent of police and State Emergency Service (SES) volunteers continued to search for Mrs Baden-Clay on Wednesday.

Their efforts are focused on three specific sites at Bellbowrie, Pullenvale and Kenmore Hills.

Police and relatives are refusing to give up hope of finding her alive, after the search was extended on Tuesday to include industrial garbage bins.

Det-Supt Ainsworth once again asked residents in the suburb of Brookfield and surrounding areas to check their properties and report anything unusual.
