Police are investigating the detonation of three explosive devices overnight in Melbourne’s north-eastern suburbs.

It’s believed a Molotov cocktail was detonated on Kirwana Grove, Montmorency about 8.30pm.

The force of the explosion caused debris to be found as far as 15 metres away.

About two hours later, a suspect device exploded on a nature strip on Glen Park Road, Eltham creating a 10 to 15-metre blast radius.

Police were also called to the Eltham Lower Park on Main Road after an explosive device was detonated in a wheelie-bin placed on a table-top.

It’s believed the explosion completely destroyed the bin and sent rubbish flying up to five metres away.

Nobody was injured in the incidents, which police believe are related.

Police have asked anyone who saw suspicious activity to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or visit www.crimestoppers.com.au.
