A motorcyclist has had his leg amputated after being thrown from his bike in Sydney’s CBD.
The 26-year-old from Perth had been riding along Bridge Street just after midnight (AEDT) on Thursday when he collided with a taxi.
He was taken to hospital with serious leg injuries, where surgeons were forced to amputate.
He remains in a serious but stable condition.
The 28-year-old taxi driver wasn’t injured.
Parts of Bridge Street were closed as police investigated the crash.
Police believe speed was a major factor and are calling for witnesses to come forward.
