Movie Theater Shooting: Suspect Opens Fire At Colorado Cinema, Injuring 20

A shooting at a movie theater near Denver has left at least 14 people dead, 9News.com reported.

The incident, which took place at the Century 16 movie theater in Aurora, Colo., is still under investigation, police said. More than 250 officers have reportedly been dispatched to the scene.

According to KMGH Denver, a person went into the theater, set off a smoke grenade and then opened fire.

Witnesses told local radio station KOA that a masked gunman launched the attack during a showing of the new Batman film “The Dark Knight Rises.”

Aurora Police Chief Dan Oates said at least 39 people were also injured in the attack.

At least one suspect is in custody, NBC News reported. It is unknown if other suspects were involved.
