Murder charge over Qld balcony plunge

A man has been charged with murdering a nightclub promoter who fell 31 storeys from his Surfers Paradise apartment block.

Tumma Cousins, 29, plunged to his death from the Beachcomber Resort on May 11 and police were initially unsure if it was an accident or a deliberate act.

On Saturday night (AEST) detectives charged a 24-year-old man from Hope Island, north of Surfers Paradise, with Mr Cousins’ murder.

He’s due to appear at Southport Magistrates’ Court on May 28, Queensland Police said.

Detectives have said Mr Cousins was originally from South Australia but had been living in the Beachcomber apartment for the past 18 months while working as a promotions manager for a local nightclub.
