Nazarbayev: Lifting sanctions helps boost economic ties

Tehran, April 11, IRNA – Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev said on Monday that lifting sanctions will help develop trade and economic cooperation between Iran and Kazakhstan.

He made the remarks in a joint press conference with President Hassan Rouhani.

The Kazakh president said that since establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries there was no problem and Kazakhstan has always been ready for support and cooperation with Iran and he held good negotiations on different issues with President Rouhani.

He said that during his visit 66 documents were signed worth around 2 billion dollars in different fields of economy, trade, tourism and agriculture.

We also discussed expenses of connecting railways between Iran, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan.

Concerning regional issues and fight against terrorism, Nazarbayev said he discussed and exchanged views on the issue and that terrorism should be considered separate from Islam and the Islamic states should fight with terrorism collectively.

He said that the diplomatic dispute between Iran and Saudi Arabia should be resolved through dialogue.

The Kazakh President invited President Rouhani to pay an official visit to Kazakhstan.
