Three more people have been arrested over a multimillion dollar heroin ring operating in southeast Queensland, the Crime and Misconduct Commission (CMC) says.
The CMC alleges the ring has been responsible for distributing at least $25 million worth of heroin in the past six years.
Last month, a 42-year-old Gold Coast man was charged with trafficking and being in possession of dangerous drugs. The CMC alleges he has links to Balkan crime groups.
The CMC says three more men have been charged since the ring was smashed.
A 23-year-old from Marsden and a 42-year-old from Mount Gravatt face charges of trafficking dangerous drugs.
A 58-year-old Marsden man faces a single firearm possession charge.
The charges spring from Operation Storm, an 18-month investigation involving Australian Federal Police, the CMC, as well as Queensland and NSW police.
