A former Japanese politician has returned from a visit to Pyongyang, during
which he held talks with Kim Yong-il, secretary of the Workers’ Party of
Korea, during which he was told that North Korea has been watching events in
the Arab world in the last year and, as a result, has no intention of giving
up its nuclear weapons.
Antonio Inoki told reporters in Tokyo that Kim pointed out that Libya halted
its efforts to develop nuclear weapons under pressure from the rest of the
world.
“We will not make the same mistakes,” Inoki quoted the official as
saying.
