First the 100-Watt light bulb disappeared from our high streets for good.

Now in an even bigger reform, it is the end for the 60-watt bulb which has been outlawed by the European Union.

They will stop being manufactured at the end of the month, forcing all householders to switch to energy-saving alternatives when stocks run out.

But customers have reacted with fury that the low-energy version which will replace them has soared in price.

Compact Fluorescent Lamps (CFLs) which last longer and use less electricity will become the only option, but critics have complained they are also less bright.

One major wholesaler, Sparks in north London, said the price charged by its supplier for an 11-watt CFL had risen from £1.39 in June to £1.67 today, an increase of 20 per cent.

it seems as though removing feces from the water supply chain would benefit the environment and human health far more than removing light bulbs from the store shelves.

True. Many homes are blighted by the stink from open-air sewage works. It would be a fairly simple task to add a lid to each tank and extract the sewage gas for burning/heating/storage or power generation, but they won’t do it.
I’m glad Brussells have shown their true colours and now many sheeple will see the EU for the corrupt commy state it always has been. Savings on electricity bills seems worthless at the cost of environment damage with mercury contamination! Bag up your used cfls and post them to brussells, why should our environment suffer for their greed?
You Americans need to get over these fucking light globes, i don’t see the argument, the new ones which the rest of the world is using without a problem, use less electricity, what the fuck don’t you understand ? 100watt light globes haven’t been around in Australia for fucking years, 50watts is the max anyone needs, and people here are complaining that that’s too high and are trying to find alternatives, like led lighting.

Wake the fuck up, your a bunch of fucking parasites living beyond your means. You drive petrol guzzlers, you eat fucking junk, your all fucking fat lazy fucks that sit around winging and consuming. You carnt be fucked rioting and just bend over instead, and you support war on third world countries that have done nothing to you. Big reality check coming Americas way really soon.
