NSW hunter shot family home: police

A hunter accidentally shot at a home full of young children, police say.

Police were called to a home in Royalla, south of Queanbeyan, about 9pm (AEST) on March 10 after a single shot was fired through a front window.

Inside were a 37-year-old man, a 36-year-old woman and four children aged between two and five. No one was injured.

A 21-year-old man was arrested in Royalla on Thursday and charged with dangerous use of a firearm and possessing a firearm without a license.

Police say they do not believe the man targeted the house because he was hunting at the time of the incident.

He is out on bail and due to appear at Queanbeyan Local Court on June 25.
