Prepare for total control of your economic life. That is the message from Brownstone Fellow Aaron Day at his 4-hour workshop in San Jose, California last Saturday, May 11th.
Day has written the excellent book The Final Countdown, which carefully describes the increasingly aggressive assaults on our freedoms by our government and by the global elites. He has just begun a series of workshops around the country to deliver that message and to show us a way to resist. The book was published just last year, but Day acknowledges during the presentation that he had to make alarming updates to his slides from current news, not even weeks old – more government intrusion, more legislation, and more spurious arrests, all attacking our ability to interact freely and transact our business.
As in the book, the presentation begins with a fictional account of a family set in the near future in a Western democracy, but perhaps all too familiar to current denizens of China, with their controlled currency and social credit scores. The image is easy to dismiss; it could never happen here. And yet, Day goes on to show how it actually is happening here. With a litany of article after article, official statement after statement, and video after video he makes his case. It is happening – he leaves no doubt.
Day gives ample historical reference points as well. How did we get here? It has been a long time coming. The constant push of globalist powers to remove our freedoms and control all resources has been in the works for a century. Perhaps it has never been different; the powerful seek more power, and the levers of technocracy make that easier than ever. The difference now is that the reach is truly global. There has been ever-increasing control over food, water, energy, and even the space we occupy and the air we breathe.
The particular focus of the workshop is on CDBCs in America and throughout the West. Our central bank has been developing digital currency for some time, hoping to eliminate our ability to keep our business to ourselves. In this new world, all our actions can be easily monitored, tracked, and nudged into whatever direction the elites deem right or beneficial to their wealth and status.
Within the two hours of historical facts, somber reflections, and sometimes horrifying news, the audience did not sit quietly and take the emotional beating. On the contrary, there was already much knowledge of these events, grunts of awareness, gasps of disbelief – we all knew it, but perhaps didn’t know it was this bad, with all the detail that Day presented.
Digital currency is in the works, folks, and it is undoubtedly coming, sooner than we all think. One more emergency is all it could take for the government to say we are all doing this now.
The audience was generally older, probably retired, or with a nest egg they were hoping to protect from debasement. A lively bunch, clearly committed to freedom, voiced their questions often in the quickly paced session. Each query exhibited a tacit but palpable urgency from the attentive crowd, who are all fully aware that what Day exposits is not some futuristic dystopian fantasy, but soon to be the new reality as he predicts.
The age of the audience is to be expected, perhaps: with time and money on their hands, they are probably more aware of the unfolding events with a perspective of history and have more wealth to lose. Indeed, many of the questions the audience asked centered around their ability to maintain their legacy when a CDBC replaces the dollar – how do I protect my assets when the currency falls and centralized control follows?
But that is not the point, says Day. The point is not that our money is a store of value; the point is that it is a medium of exchange. It is not the inherent value of gold or crypto that is important, whether it goes up or goes down; its importance is its utility and its freedom from tracking by the State.
Viewing the importance of money through this lens of freedom and impact on the future, we could easily see that those with truly the most to lose were largely not present at the workshop. The young adults – whose lives will be impacted the most gravely should the economic stranglehold ensue – will not make their financial decisions freely according to their own obligations, their own goals, and their own dreams.
Every purchase will ultimately have to pass the test of the State’s agenda: did they use too much gas or too much water? Did they say something against the State? Will it be possible for them to attain the kind of comfort that their parents attained, out of the State’s watchful eye? If Day’s CDBC roadmap to economic tyranny is deployed, he clearly demonstrates what follows, and he proves it by citing recent events.
The second part of the workshop focuses on what can possibly be done to counter this insidious march into economic slavery. Unfortunately, as Day describes, it is not possible to simply pack up and move out. Even with ample wealth and mobility, escape is not possible. Day recounts the stories of several colleagues who tried a different way – many of them arrested for saying too much and being too influential. Live in a different country? Doesn’t matter. We’ll call our people there and have you picked up.
No, the only true way to beat this movement into CDBC tyranny is to stand in the light and refuse to participate. Use other methods to transact your business wherever you can and get others to do likewise. See which businesses will accept payment in crypto, and get yourself a wallet. Giving the waiter a tip? Give her a Goldback.
As Day also makes clear, no one such solution will work; we have to use them all, as the effort to undermine the options is well underway. You may have heard that the largest threat to the dollar, Bitcoin, has been subverted into a system to be controlled by insiders, who are ultimately influenced by the State. Roger Ver’s recent book, Hijacking Bitcoin, tells this story. Tellingly, Ver, a citizen of St. Kitts since 2014, was arrested in Spain at the behest of the US just weeks ago.
Day explains that this is the point of using every way possible to sidestep the use of the dollar. If one method gets too big it becomes compromised by attacks of the State.
The other important takeaway from the workshop is the idea of self-custody. Any crypto account you keep, or any asset anywhere, should be kept under your own custody, where only you have the keys. This is not possible with many cryptocurrencies by their construction, and not possible if you leave custody with a bank. It’s a lot harder for the State to go after millions of anonymous accounts than to go after one central repository that has the keys. Day notes which cryptos do and don’t allow self-custody. If you trade crypto through a large exchange, they too will most likely keep the keys.
I have only touched on the depth and breadth of Aaron Day’s workshop. It is well worth the time to understand the evil before us and practical ways to combat it. We will all need to work together to keep our financial freedom. Every attendee walked out of the workshop empowered with practical tools for resisting the move to CBDC. What Are Gog and Magog? One of the Most Remarkable Predictions in the Bible

Ezekiel Chapters 38 and 39 are considered by many Bible scholars to be among the more difficult prophetic passages in scripture. As a result, there is no general consensus regarding the interpretation of these two chapters. Because this prophecy is one of the more debated topics, it is important that we first clearly outline our perspectives as we interpret this passage of scripture.
Gog and Magog appear in Ezekiel Chapter 38 and 39 and in Revelation 20:7-8. I believe this may be a case where the specific fulfillment of the prophecy is not truly understood until its fulfillment.
Two of the biggest controversies are the chronological placement of the prophecy and the nature of the battle described. Those who hold the Pre-millennial View believe Ezekiel’s prophecy will be fulfilled in a future event before the millennium, while Revelation reference to Gog and Magog is Post-millennial.
Others who hold the post-millennial view believe both references point to the same post-millennial event, interpreting the prophecies symbolically, rather than chronologically.
Another area Bible scholars do not completely agree on is the nature of the battle; whether it may be a literal or symbolic battle, there is debate over whether the battles described are literal military conflicts or symbolic representations of spiritual battles between good and evil.
We will approach this sermon assuming that they describe actual events and we will be taking a Pre-millennial View. Although these two passages use the same names, a careful study of scripture shows that they do not refer to the same people or events. The events are separated by at least 1,000 years. In Ezekiel’s prophecy, Gog is depicted as the leader of a vast army that launches an attack on peaceful and unsuspecting Israel.
We see this in Ezekiel 38:1. Gog is described as coming from the land of Magog and as the Prince of Rash, Mesek and Tubal.
We see this in Ezekiel 38: 2 and 3. the timing of this battle has been the subject of much debate among scholars and theologians, leading to the development of two primary theories regarding when this event might occur.
Theory One: Before the tribulation begins. This theory suggests that th Battle of Gog and Magog will take place before the Tribulation period begins. Proponents of this view highlight several key points from the text to support their argument.
For instance, after the battle the people of Israel will spend 7 years burning the enemy’s weapons and over 7 months burying the dead, as described in the 39th chapter of the Book of Ezekiel, the extended period required for these activities suggests that the battle must occur at a time when Israel has the stability and capacity to undertake such efforts, which is believed to be before the Tribulation.
Furthermore, this view aligns with the idea that the battle could happen even before the Rapture of the Church, since the Tribulation is characterized by widespread chaos and divine judgments.
A pre-Tribulation battle would provide the necessary time frame for Israel to manage the aftermath of such a significant conflict. This interpretation also allows for the prophetic timeline to accommodate other eschatological events described in scripture without overlapping the intense period of the Tribulation.
Theory Two: During the first part of the 7-year tribulation, the second theory suggests that the battle will occur during the first part of the 7-year tribulation period. This perspective is primarily based on the description of Israel being at peace when the attack begins. The peace and security that Israel enjoys at this time are believed to be the result of a covenant with the Antichrist, as outlined in the prophecy of Daniel’s 70th week, as seen in Daniel 9:27.
According to this view, the covenant made with the Antichrist brings a temporary period of peace to Israel, making it peaceful and unsuspecting when when Gog and his forces launch their attack.
This fits within the broader narrative of the Tribulation, where initial peace is followed by sudden destruction and turmoil. The notion that the battle happens during the Tribulation also aligns with other prophetic scriptures that depict escalating conflict and divine intervention during this period.
Ezekiel 38:14-23
Therefore, son of man, prophesy and say unto Gog, Thus saith the Lord GOD; In that day when my people of Israel dwelleth safely, shalt thou not know it? And thou shalt come from thy place out of the north parts, thou, and many people with thee, all of them riding upon horses, a great company, and a mighty army: and thou shalt come up against my people of Israel, as a cloud to cover the land; it shall be in the latter days, and I will bring thee against my land, that the heathen may know me, when I shall be sanctified in thee, O Gog, before their eyes. Thus saith the Lord GOD; Art thou he of whom I have spoken in old time by my servants the prophets of Israel, which prophesied in those days many years that I would bring thee against them? And it shall come to pass at the same time when Gog shall come against the land of Israel, saith the Lord GOD, that my fury shall come up in my face. For in my jealousy and in the fire of my wrath have I spoken, Surely in that day there shall be a great shaking in the land of Israel; so that the fishes of the sea, and the fowls of the heaven, and the beasts of the field, and all creeping things that creep upon the earth, and all the men that are upon the face of the earth, shall shake at my presence, and the mountains shall be thrown down, and the steep places shall fall, and every wall shall fall to the ground. And I will call for a sword against him throughout all my mountains, saith the Lord GOD: every man’s sword shall be against his brother. And I will plead against him with pestilence and with blood; and I will rain upon him, and upon his bands, and upon the many people that are with him, an overflowing rain, and great hailstones, fire, and brimstone. Thus will I magnify myself, and sanctify myself; and I will be known in the eyes of many nations, and they shall know that I am the LORD.
In this passage of scripture, we see that Gog will come from the north with a massive army and God will allow this invasion so that the nations will know Him when he demonstrates His Holiness through Gog’s defeat.
When Gog invades, God’s Fury will be kindled. As a result, there will be a massive earthquake in Israel, affecting all creatures and the entire landscape. Mountains will be overturned, cliffs will fall and walls will crumble then God proceeds on to causing infighting among the invading troops of Gog and then a series of divine judgments.
There will be torrential rain, hailstones, fire and brimstone. The Bible states that it will take 7 months to bury the dead and 7 years to dispose of the enemy’s weapons. The lengthy burial process indicates the vast number of casualties, while the extended period for burning weapons underscores the scale of the invading forces and the thoroughness of Israel’s cleanup efforts.
This extended timeline also highlights the magnitude of God’s deliverance and the subsequent peace and restoration for Israel.
Now that we have looked at the Book of Ezekiel, let us turn our attention to the Book of Revelation, where Gog and Magog are also mentioned.
Revelation 20: 7-10
And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison and shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea. And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them. And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
In contrast, the battle described in Revelation 20: verses 7 to 8 occurs at the end of the Thousand-Year reign of Jesus, known as the “Millennium” or the “Millennial Reign”.
After this period of peace and righteousness, Satan is released from his prison and deceives the Nations, referred to symbolically as Gog and Magog, together for a final assault on the Camp of the Saints in the Beloved City, which is Jerusalem.
We cannot be certain whether the saints mentioned in this context are the glorified Saints who reign alongside Jesus or those who come to faith in him during the Millennium.
Regardless of their identity, the strategy of this immense Satanic army is unmistakable. Their objective is to annihilate God’s people and target the headquarters or capital city of his administration, which is Jerusalem.
Often referred to as the Beloved City, this massive force under Satan’s command aims to lay waste to both the faithful followers of Jesus and the central hub of his Divine governance.
Key distinctions include the timing. This battle takes place at the end of the Millennium after a thousand years of Christ’s Reign on Earth. It is the final rebellion against God before the creation of the New Heaven and New Earth.
The participants, unlike the more localized invasion in Ezekiel, this battle involves nations from all over the world, symbolizing a universal uprising against God.
Armies come from all directions, not just the north, as seen in Ezekiel’s invasion.
Satan’s role: Satan is explicitly mentioned as the instigator of this rebellion. He is the one pulling the strings, gathering the forces. His release, after a thousand years and subsequent deception of the nations highlight his central role in this End Times event outcome.

Recognizing the different contexts and outcomes of these battles underscores the complexity and richness of Biblical prophecy, highlighting God’s sovereignty and ultimate victory over over evil.
Across different stages of Redemptive history, praise be to God, for He, alone is Sovereign over all creation, reigning Supreme over kings, presidents and nations. His authority is unparalleled, His power unmatched and His wisdom beyond comprehension.
No one can challenge God, for He is in a league all by himself. When evil men with their vast armies rise up to defy Him, they stand no chance. Their plans crumble to dust before His might. God is in control of world events and the unfolding of history, directing all things according to His Divine will.
God is completely sovereign over the closing and opening of the womb. Men and women do not ultimately have control over whether they will conceive a child. It is always and ever in God’s hand. God is also sovereign over everything including evil.
In general, God is sovereign over life and death. God is also sovereign over people and their hearts. That includes you and me. God is sovereign over the rise and fall of nations. He establishes governments and rulers and He deposes them, according to His will.
History unfolds according to His Divine plan, with every event serving his ultimate purpose God is Sovereign over the natural world. He commands the seas and the skies, controls the weather and governs the laws of nature. Every aspect of Creation, from the smallest atom to the largest galaxy operates under His authority.
God is Sovereign over time. He exists outside of time and orchestrates the past present and future to fulfill His eternal purposes. Our days are numbered by Him and each moment is held with within His providential care.
God is Sovereign over our circumstances. He knows the details of our lives and works all things together for our good and His glory. Our trials and triumphs, joys and sorrows are all under His control.
God is sovereign over salvation. He calls people to Himself, transforms hearts and grants the gift of faith. Our redemption is entirely His work, accomplished through the sacrifice of His son Jesus Christ.
God is Sovereign over the church. He builds his body of believers, equipping and guiding them for his mission. The growth and perseverance of the church are sustained by His power. In all things, God’s sovereignty assures us of His ultimate authority and His unwavering commitment to His purposes.
We can trust in His perfect wisdom and timing, knowing that He reigns supreme over all Creation. God’s supreme authority is not only a testament to his greatness but also a source of profound comfort for us. In a world where chaos and uncertainty often reign, we can find peace in knowing that God is in charge.
His sovereignty is not the harsh rule of a tyrant but the loving governance of a wise and just king. His plans are perfect and His purposes are good. This truth is a pillow on which we can peacefully rest our heads each night, secure in the knowledge that our lives are held in His capable hands.
When we reflect on God’s sovereignty, we see that it is the foundation of our faith. If God is in control, then we need not be. We are freed from the burden of trying to manage everything ourselves; from the anxiety of believing that everything depends on our efforts.
God’s sovereignty means that the forces that seem to manipulate our destiny, our health, our relationships, our political landscape, our government, our sin patterns, our weaknesses and our heartaches are all under His control. He is weaving all these threads into his perfect tapestry, working all things together for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purpose.
In the grand narrative of history, God’s hand is evident. He raises up leaders and brings them down. He directs the course of nations and the fate of empires. Nothing happens outside of His will, from the rise and fall of ancient kingdoms, to the shifting powers of modern politics, God is orchestrating his Divine plan. He is the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end.
All things find their origin and fulfillment in Him. Consider the times when we face personal trial and uncertainties, it is in these moments that the sovereignty of God shines as a beacon of hope. When our health fails ,when relationships falter, when political turmoil shakes our confidence, we can trust that God is still in control. He holds our future and He knows the plans He has for us; plans to prosper us and not to harm us; plans to give us hope and a future.
His authority over our lives brings stability in the midst of chaos and peace in the face of turmoil. God’s sovereignty also assures us of his justice in a world where injustice often prevails. We can trust that God will set all things right. He is the righteous judge and his judgments are true and fair. Every wrong will be made right. Every evil will be punished and every good will be rewarded.
His justice will prevail and His kingdom will come in its fullness. Moreover, God’s supreme authority scores His grace and mercy though He is all-powerful, he is also all-loving.
He does not wield His power to dominate but to save. In His sovereignty, He sent His son, Jesus Christ to redeem the world through his death and resurrection. We have been given the gift of eternal life this is the ultimate expression of His control and His love. He has made a way for us to be reconciled to Him; to be part of His eternal kingdom.

I’ve been telling you for two years now that Donald Trump is going to win big in November. Such a notion was considered unthinkable when I first brought it up, but with each passing day, more and more people are getting on board with a return of Trump to the White House.
Short of Trump’s death – and there was an attempt by a Secret Service agent to assassinate Trump with a heart attack gun at his recent New Jersey rally that you likely haven’t heard about – there is nothing on earth that can stop Trump from winning this fall by the biggest margin of victory ever seen in an American presidential election.
NOTHING IS GOING TO CHANGE
But while Trump is going to win in 2024 and while that’s a good thing – certainly an improvement over the impostor pretending to be Joe Biden – another term of Trump as president is not going to change anything in the long run.
The economy will improve, and Americans, being some of the most selfish people on earth, won’t look beyond that. As long as they’re getting theirs, they don’t care about anyone else. However, American society will continue its slide into the abyss. The country has rejected Christianity (traditional Catholicism) to such a degree that full recovery is impossible.
And why should we expect a recovery anyway? As of May 2024, there are millions of Americans salivating with blood lust over the mass murder of Palestinian children being carried out by Israel. Those same people are cheering as police in riot gear brutally beat and arrest college students, not for committing crimes, but for peacefully protesting the murder of those children.

Do they think God is going to say, “Well, those children who were tortured and killed were Palestinians, so we’ll let it slide.”
Do they expect Him to say, “Well, those protesters were peaceful, but their tents were an eyesore, so beating their heads in doesn’t count.”
What else can they be thinking? They’re either delusional to the point where they believe God will forgive them for supporting the mass murder of innocent children, or they’re not thinking at all. In the case of the latter, they’re not bothering to think, because they’re too busy jerking off to pornography, listening to talk radio, and being lied to by Fox News.
This is serious mental derangement we’re witnessing and quite possibly demonic possession. After all, who would openly support the mass murder of children other than a person diabolically possessed? Who would support Bolshevik-style police officers beating and arresting innocent college students other than someone totally gone to the dark side?
The deliberate mass murder of children in Palestine is something so extreme, so out of the realm of holiness and God, that demonic possession, and the resultant mental derangement that such possession would cause, appear to be the only explanation that makes sense.
It’s a level of evil akin to Herod’s slaughter of the innocents. Only while Herod was a lone individual, what we’re seeing now is literally millions of people consumed with hate and calling for the murder (sacrifice) of children.
How can a country whose citizens support the mass murder of children possibly survive in the long run? What good is a country whose people insist on spitting in the face of God and damning their own souls to hell?
CUCKSERVATIVES AS BAD A LIBTARDS
What’s amusing, in a sick sort of way, is how libtards were the ones most heavily duped by the virus hoax, while the genocide in Palestine is being supported almost entirely by cuckservatives – the dupes who watch Fox News, listen to talk radio, and think they know everything.
Their level of thinking is actually more dangerous than that of the libtards. The libtards thought the virus hoax was real and their actions, though misguided, were based on the belief that they were saving lives. The cuckservatives, on the other hand, have no interest in saving lives at all. They’re championing the starvation and slaughter of children.
These are truly deranged individuals. Imagine the level of darkness to which a person would have to descend in order to support and defend the mass murder of children.
Out of the 100,000 people who attended Trump’s rally in New Jersey, I doubt if more than ten of them actually fought back against the virus hoax and boycotted the hoax pushers. They’re all for putting Trump back in the White House, despite his responsiblity for the plandemic and the toxic “vaccines.” They’re unwilling to make even the slightest sacrifice in defense of their country.
They vote for people like Lindsey Graham, who now says he wants to nuke Palestine, while blindly following whatever their handlers on television tell them to. A country populated by people like this does not deserve to go on.
Yes, Trump will win in November. Yes, the economy will improve – for four years only. But a country like ours cannot survive beyond that. Forget the country. It’s dead. Your job is to save your own soul.

NEVER TOO EARLY: State Sen. Zellnor Myrie’s challenge to Mayor Eric Adams might have just earned him his own challenger next cycle.
Assemblymember Brian Cunningham has got his eye on 2026 and filed a campaign committee Monday for Myrie’s District 20 seat in Central Brooklyn, first reported by Playbook.
So does Cunningham think Myrie will beat the mayor, and he’s preparing to run for the open seat? Or does Cunningham think Myrie will lose and is threatening to challenge him for daring to take on Adams?
After all, Cunningham is one of Adams’ top allies in Albany and is so close with the mayor’s top political adviser Ingrid Lewis-Martin that he calls her “Mom,” a person familiar with the relationship told Playbook.
Myrie and Cunningham’s districts overlap, but they’ve never been close. When Cunningham won his seat in a 2022 special election, Adams endorsed him, while Myrie and his camp backed Jelanie DeShong, who was working for Hochul.
Cunningham downplayed the drama.
It’s “certainly not an endorsement” of Myrie winning, or of Adams, for that matter, he said in an interview with Playbook. “This is just a matter of exploring and seeing how I can best serve the 43rd Assembly District.”
Would he take on Myrie in 2026? “I would never run simply for retribution,” Cunningham said, and he is not challenging anyone “at this time.” Both he and Myrie are running uncontested for their legislative seats this year.
Myrie’s campaign declined to comment on the move.
But insiders were split over how to read Cunningham’s move. “If he’s doing that, I assume it’s to support Adams,” a Brooklyn Democratic consultant told Playbook.
But a progressive Democratic consultant thinks Cunningham’s filing means he thinks Myrie could be mayor.
“It sends a signal that folks think this Senate seat is going to be open in 2026, and there is good reason for that,” they said. “For those who think this is an attempt to mess with Zellnor, it’s worth pointing out that filing a challenge after the petitioning deadline doesn’t strike much fear into anyone’s heart.”

FIRST IN PLAYBOOK: Prominent labor unions in New York are throwing their support to a measure meant to shorten prison sentences in exchange for vocational training.
The measure is among a handful of criminal justice law changes that have been sought in recent years in Albany.
And it is a proposal the labor groups, including influential organizations like 1199 SEIU, the United Federation of Teachers and the New York State Nurses Association argue could help alleviate a labor shortage in New York.
“This labor shortage has been exacerbated by the exclusion of people who are locked out of the workforce because of extremely long prison sentences and limited opportunities to earn release through educational and workforce development programs in prison,” the groups wrote in a letter to top state officials released today and obtained by Playbook.
The measure, backed by state Sen. Jeremy Cooney and Assemblymember Anna Kelles, would allow people in prison to earn time off if they participate in vocational, educational and rehabilitative programs.
Criminal justice reforms have come under scrutiny, however, amid criticism from Republicans — potentially making moderate Democrats less inclined to take up the proposals, especially in an election year.
But labor support could help push some of these sentencing law changes over the finish line.
“It is imperative that our elected leaders prioritize these reforms during this legislative session to ensure that all individuals, regardless of their past mistakes, have a chance to successfully reintegrate into society,” Tori Newman-Campbell, the legislative coordinator for 1199 SEIU said. — Nick Reisman
UPK FUNDING: School districts across the state are gaining access to $34 million in universal pre-kindergarten funding that will go towards 64 school districts across the state, the state Education Department announced today.
This comes after significant changes to pre-kindergarten funding were made in the 2025 enacted budget that streamlined the funding process for schools looking to create or expand their programs. The budget consolidated its funding into one funding source with $10,000 per-per-pupil for programs run by a certified teacher and $7,000 for per-pupil for programs run by a teacher without the early childhood certification.
“When we provide equitable opportunities for children in their early years, they reap the benefits throughout their lives,” Commissioner Betty Rosa said in a statement. — Katelyn Cordero
JAMES FILES ERA APPEAL: Attorney General Tish James’ office filed an appeal today to a Livingston County court’s decision to block the state Equal Rights Amendment from appearing on November’s ballot.
The appeal has been expected. The filing confirmed that James will bring the case to a mid-level court based in Rochester, rather than attempting a rarely-successful maneuver to take arguments directly to the Court of Appeals.
“This appeal is a crucial step toward ensuring that the voters — not a single, anti-abortion litigant or backward politicians — get to decide the future of our rights and reproductive freedoms,” New Yorkers for Equal Rights campaign director Sasha Ahuja said in a statement. “We are confident the amendment will be on the ballot.” — Bill Mahoney
BROOKLYN IN THE HOUSE: Hochul, Adams and the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey have come to a deal — in principle — that would transform the Brooklyn Maritime Terminal into a more modern ship port.
The project would entail building a 122-acre waterfront project to generate more jobs for the region and stimulate the economy. The Democratic governor and mayor were together this morning to discuss the deal.
“Today’s announcement marks the next great chapter for Brooklyn’s storied waterfront and is a win for the people of New York City,” Hochul said in a statement. “Our partners at the Port Authority will ensure that the marine terminal at Howland Hook remains a thriving shipping hub…”
A task force will be created to assist in the engagement process. It will be chaired by Brooklyn lawmakers Rep. Dan Goldman, state Sen. Andrew Gounardes and City Council Member Alexa Aviles.
The engagement process will take input from local elected officials, unions, waterfront companies, businesses and the local community to come up with a shared vision for what the waterfront should look like. — Shawn Ness

OPERATION PADLOCK TO PROTECT: After one week of “Operation Padlock to Protect” — an enforcement effort to close illegal weed shops — the city shuttered 75 locations and issued nearly $6 million in penalties, City Hall said today.
The effort was undertaken during four days earlier this month. Locks were administered by the city’s Sheriff’s Joint Compliance Task Force and the NYPD.
“Week one of ‘Operation Padlock to Protect,’ reaffirms what we’ve long said: With the backing of legal authority behind us, our administration will act swiftly to combat illegal cannabis and smoke shop operators,” Adams said in a statement.
Adams had long been asking Albany for help to close down the illegal shops, and he got more power to do so in the state budget.
The task force conducted 150 inspections of businesses that were allegedly selling illegal cannabis products or untaxed cigarettes. Out of those inspections, 77 businesses were issued cease and desist orders (in addition to the 75 stores being locked).
“For too long, illegal operators have posed a threat to our children, our public safety, and our quality of life, and they have undermined those justice-involved, legal businesses that are trying to succeed. With this coordinated and sustained multi-agency enforcement, we will help usher in a thriving, safe, and just legal cannabis market that our city deserves,” Adams added. — Shawn Ness

CELEBRATING HISTORY: Hochul announced today the inception of the 250th Commemoration Commission to recognize the American Revolution and signing of the Declaration of Independence.
“New York State played a pivotal role in the American Revolution, and we look forward to welcoming people from all over the world to join us in commemorating the 250th anniversary in 2026,” Hochul said in a statement.
The commission will be co-chaired by Randy Simons, the commissioner pro tempore of the Office of Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation, as well as Dr. Betty Rosa, the education commissioner.
The commission’s goal in its first year is to support the state’s heritage organizations in developing exhibits, coordinate state learning standards and promote heritage tourism.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE LEGISLATION: The Senate is gearing up to pass legislation that would further protections for domestic violence victims in New York. Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins announced a package of legislation set to pass the Senate on Tuesday.
The package includes legislation that would eliminate voluntary intoxication of a victim from use as a permissible defense in sex crimes. Other bills include a requirement that extreme risk protection orders be added to a statewide registry; a bill that would clarify the definition of “welfare” to increase awards made to crime victims; and another bill that would help to inform victims of their rights upon conviction.
“Those who have survived domestic and sexual violence should have access to all available resources and protection during their journey toward recovery,” Stewart-Cousins said in a statement.
“Unfortunately, existing regulations and practices often create unnecessary obstacles, bureaucratic processes, and discourage individuals from seeking essential services. A SURPRISINGLY QUIET COLUMBIA GRADUATION: Columbia College students graduated in a relatively calm atmosphere this morning despite recent pro-Palestinian protests on campus.
To be sure, there were brief moments in which students expressed solidarity with Palestinians at the ceremony, the institution’s largest for graduating seniors. But overall, the event went down without significant demonstrations. Columbia President Minouche Shafik decided to skip the ceremony.
Kathy Fang, the college’s valedictorian, arrived onstage with a keffiyeh and held up her hand to show off a “Free Palestine” sticker.
The salutatorian — Priya Chainani, president of Columbia College Student Council, which offered support to students — lauded student-run publications Columbia Daily Spectator, a newspaper, and WKCR, a radio station, as “the best, most reliable sources for on the ground reporting.”
“In the past weeks, students continue to uphold the true values of Columbia even when many of the adults in the room or not in this room did not,” Chainani said to loud and continuous cheers.
Longtime CNN anchor Poppy Harlow’s speech was largely well-received by students.
“Now like some of you I am considering my options. I am unemployed, find me on LinkedIn,” Harlow said, to laughter and cheers, referring to her recent exit from CNN. The crowd was also supportive when she fought back tears as she honored her late father, a 1969 Columbia graduate.

The True Costs of Pandemic Prevention and Response

At the end of May 2024, the World Health Assembly will vote on whether to adopt two legally binding World Health Organization (WHO) instruments: a new Pandemic Agreement and amendments to the International Health Regulations (IHRs). These policies have been designed to coordinate and standardize national-level pandemic preparedness, complementing other emerging pandemic preparedness initiatives such as the World Bank’s Pandemic Fund, the WHO International Pathogen Surveillance Network (IPSN), and the Medical Countermeasures Platform (MCP).
There have been wide-ranging estimates regarding the cost of supporting these pandemic prevention, preparedness, and response (PPPR) instruments and how these costs can be financed. For example, the G20 High Level Independent Panel (HLIP) recommends global and country level investments of US$171 billion over five years, with an unspecified amount annually thereafter. The World Bank estimates that an additional US$10.3 to US$11.5 billion will be required to boost One Health as an accessory to PPPR.
An influential report written by McKinsey & Company estimated PPPR to cost anywhere from US$85 to US$130 billion over two years, with annual costs thereafter of US$20 to US$50 billion. The WHO and World Bank estimate that PPPR investment requires US$31.1 billion a year, including US$10.5 billion in official development assistance (ODA). The HLIP did not include several PPPR-related activities within its original estimate, such as addressing antimicrobial resistance (AMR), health system strengthening, and elements of manufacturing medical countermeasures. If these costs are included, then PPPR costs reach nearly a quarter of a trillion dollars over the first five years of this endeavor, with further investments required to maintain capacities thereafter.
REPPARE reviewed these estimates as well as the supplemental evidence and material provided by the WHO Secretariat in support of the International Negotiating Body (INB) for the Pandemic Agreement and International Health Regulation Working Group (IHRWG). Our analysis focused on the robustness of the cost estimations and whether the associated financial recommendations are justified as having appropriate returns on investment in support of the current pandemic preparedness agenda.
Four cross-cutting concerns emerged from the REPPARE analysis.
PPPR estimates lack reliability
The reliability of PPPR estimates is weak, since there is a general lack of accurate cost estimates for current pandemic preparedness at both the domestic and international levels due to poor monitoring, a lack of reporting, and inconsistent definitions about what actually constitutes pandemic preparedness. To compensate for this lack of evidence, the major PPPR documents over-rely on a small sample of case studies, a shortlist of academic studies, extrapolations from poor-quality datasets, and the use of loose estimates provided by McKinsey & Company.
Consequently, the primary cost estimates are based on just three reports which are self-referential and under-scrutinized, creating a circular evidence and citation base. For example, the HLIP relied upon a now unavailable 2021 WHO and World Bank report and the report from McKinsey & Company to calculate their PPPR financing estimates. The 2021 WHO and World Bank report relied on the very same McKinsey estimates. Yet, in an act of circular logic, an updated WHO and World Bank report, revised and re-released in 2022, then cites the HLIP report for validation of their cost estimates.
This circular justification creates a false perception of scientific rigor, counter-verification, and consensus. More worryingly, it results in potential “congeniality bias,” which is demonstrated by the fact that when distilled to an annual estimate for PPPR, all three reports coalesce around a surprisingly similar PPPR price tag of US$31.1 billion to US$35.7 billion (i.e. US$31.1 billion; WHO/World Bank – US$34.2 billion; HLIP – US$35.7 billion; McKinsey respectively). Usually, such a low margin between independent studies would suggest a high level of reliability in the estimates provided. However, in this case, given the incestuous nature of the sources used and the limited methodologies outlined, reliability and accuracy are undermined. As a result, there is a clear need for more robust PPPR baseline estimates as well as projected costs to fill identified gaps.
Unconvincing Justification for PPPR Value for Money
Claims made about PPPR value for money and return on investment are highly unconvincing. The investment models applied to justify PPPR used problematic, crude, or unexplained baselines for comparison while failing to properly examine wider impacts on economies and other disease burdens. For example, the documents uniformly assumed that PPPR measures could prevent 100% of the economic impact associated with a “covid-like” outbreak (although the HLIP did hedge its bet by later suggesting that it might be only 75%). This is highly doubtful, since preventing and containing zoonoses is extremely challenging and even minor outbreaks will produce some impact.
Moreover, and more concerningly, the models used Covid-19 as their comparative baseline, yet failed to disaggregate direct impacts resulting from the emergence of SARS-CoV-2 (hospitalizations, treatments, lost incomes due to illness) from indirect impacts resulting from society-wide policy responses that generated negative economic impacts (lockdowns, travel bans, fiscal injections, stimulus packages, etc.).
Given that the largest costs of Covid-19 are associated with social response measures such as lockdowns, the reports create a false impression of value for money and a strong return on investment. An alternative argument is that greater value for money would result from an appropriate and thoroughgoing review of the response measures used during Covid-19 to properly determine their efficacy and costs versus benefit.
While return on investment is commonly used within the private sector, its use in public health is more challenging since monetising benefits is not straightforward and a variety of non-fiscal benefits can be included. The goal of return on investment is to translate the benefits of an investment into a single quantitative measure expressed in monetary terms, so its “value” can be directly compared with its cost. However, in the case of the PPPR documents reviewed, these challenges were further compounded by longtime horizons and the failure to acknowledge that contextual conditions will inevitably change, such as shifting global health burdens and new technological advancements.
An Unprecedented Cost Threatening to Absorb Global Health Financing
Even if the estimates for PPPR are correct, they represent a significant alteration in global health policy and would constitute anywhere from 25% to 55% of current ODA spend for health. Currently, the PPPR agenda has seemingly settled on estimates provided by the WHO and World Bank, which estimate the need for approximately $31.5 billion in total annual funding for PPPR, including US$26.4 billion in annual PPPR investments by low-and middle-income countries (LMICs) and US$4.7 billion required in new ODA funding to shore up international efforts. These estimates assume that 25% of existing ODA already covers international PPPR efforts and that LMICs will only require US$7 billion in additional ODA to fill national budget shortfalls. Thus, the total estimated ODA requirement for PPPR would be US$3.5 billion + US$7 billion = US$10.5 billion.
This represents a disproportionate investment for an unknown future disease burden. For example, when compared to current trends in funding tuberculosis, where donor funding equals US$1.1 billion, but for a disease with an annual mortality rate of 1.3 million people. In terms of public policy, this defies traditional practices in public health, which would weigh any benefit of pandemic prevention against other disease burdens and health financing needs.
In addition, in 2022, global health received US$39.3 billion in ODA from governments and multilateral agencies. This number had significantly increased from pre-pandemic ODA levels, although the increase is largely explained by increases in funding for Covid-19 which made up a fifth of the total. If ODA for health remains constant at US$39 billion, then US$10.5 billion would equate to over a quarter of all health-related ODA. If post-covid ODA for health returned to pre-Covid levels (approx. US$22 billion in 2018), then PPPR would constitute over half of all ODA global health spending.
The PPPR Estimates Pose Unrecognised Opportunity Costs with the Potential for Net Harm
The above costs raise an important concern; namely, they fail to consider the significant opportunity costs associated with the unprecedented investments being proposed by the WHO, the World Bank, and the G20 HLIP. Opportunity costs are important to any public health policy, since the estimated cost and financing requirements for PPPR pose the risk of redirecting scarce resources from global and national health priorities of greater burden. It is therefore vital that cost estimates are accurate and reliable.
Moreover, any investment cannot be determined in isolation but must be weighed against competing health, social, and economic priorities, since the recommended investments for pandemic preparedness carry broad implications for societal health. These reflections have not been considered nor weighed against other known global public health concerns.
Is a Guesstimate a Good Case for Investment?
There is a clear need to commission better global and country-level baseline and preparedness cost estimations to accurately determine the scale and potential trade-offs of proposed pandemic preparedness financing. To do so, a wider range of country case examples and primary data collection regarding current PPPR spend is required. This will better identify gaps and capture contextual variation and need. Furthermore, better evaluation of current regional and global-level PPPR activities and costs is necessary, since overlapping programmes and institutions pose problems of double-counting and the entanglement of financial flows.
Understanding relative disease burdens and economic impacts is also crucial for identifying the cost-benefit and return on investment from pandemic financing, as well as guiding the selection of interventions that promote good overall public health outcomes. Failing to take these wider issues into account carries the risk of overly expensive PPPR policies that deliver bad results.
Given the poor evidence underlying pandemic cost and financing estimates, it is prudent not to rush into new pandemic initiatives until underlying assumptions and broad claims of a return on investment are properly assessed. These must be based on robust evidence, recognized need, and realistic measures of risk. WHO Member States will be better served by having transparent estimates that reflect reality and risk before they engage in such an uncertain and high-cost endeavour.

Is There Hope for International Rule of Law?

This week, the Working Group on the Amendments to the International Health Regulations (WGIHR) will resume its 8th round of negotiations on 16-17 May, scheduled only ten days ahead of the 77th World Health Assembly (WHA) on the 27th of May, where a vote is planned on the whole package of draft amendments. Concerns have been raised globally by academics, parliamentarians, and civil society that the World Health Organization (WHO) and the WGIHR do not respect their own procedural requirements of Article 55(2) IHR (2005,) which prescribes a 4-month review period prior to a vote.
Article 55 Amendments
1. Amendments to these Regulations may be proposed by any State Party or by the Director- General. Such proposals for amendments shall be submitted to the Health Assembly for its consideration.
2. The text of any proposed amendment shall be communicated to all States Parties by the Director-General at least four months before the Health Assembly at which it is proposed for consideration.
This strange situation may be unfathomable for many. Negotiating delegations and country representations are surely composed of prominent diplomats and lawyers. However, when the matter was discussed at the 5th WGIHR meeting in October 2023, it didn’t cause them much discomfort. During the public discussion, the WHO’s Legal Officer stated that Article 55(2) would not apply to the WGIHR as a subdivision of the WHA, disregarding the fact that Article 55(2) didn’t make such distinction, and that the WGIHR had initially intended to respect it by giving itself the January 2024 deadline.
One Co-Chair of the WGIHR said that the negotiations of the previous package of amendments adopted in 2005 had continued until the morning of the 58th WHA session. This is a false precedent. The 1969 version of the IHR, amended in 1973 and 1981, had not contained any such procedural provision on amendment submission. The 4-month requirement was only added to the 2005 version approved by the WHA at that meeting, and so became applicable after that time. It is therefore obvious that what happened in 2005 did not violate Article 55(2) since it did not exist.
Regrettably, the WGIHR went along with proposals to continue the work until May 2024, as noted in the meeting report.
5. The Co-Chairs noted that, in reference to decision WHA75(9) (2022), it appeared unlikely that the package of amendments would be ready by January 2024. In that regard, the Working Group agreed to continue its work between January and May 2024. The Director-General will submit to the Seventy-seventh World Health Assembly the package of amendments agreed to by the Working Group.
We are witnessing some sort of coverup, either voluntarily or not, of the violation of Article 55(2) by leaders and supra-national bodies that will make laws for the rest of the world. Governments subsequently did not raise eyebrows at the recent unfounded WHO’s claims that it had fulfilled the requirements of Article 55(2) by circulating a compilation of 308 proposed amendments in November 2022 – those that have been largely modified or deleted through multiple rounds of negotiations. These claims must be rejected, as previously demonstrated, that Article 55(2) requires the final text to be ready four months ahead of the WHA vote.
The whole IHR amendment process has since become theater. The negotiations on a draft pandemic agreement and the IHR draft amendments are probably the intergovernmental processes’ most closely watched ever. Worried by a future dictated by unelected health bureaucrats to restrain private and business activities without oversight and accountability, the public has made noise by reporting and informing their elected persons about their dismay. For example, this open letter has garnished more than 14,000 online signatures from concerned citizens around the world. Scrapping the 4-month period will not only prevent governments from properly reviewing the text before signing up, but it also means the public will have less or no time at all to manifest their concerns and opposition.
It is truly shameful that the WHO and the WGIHR agreed to disregard Article 55(2) when this could have been an opportunity to demonstrate their seriousness. Internal egos and external pressures probably drive them to be seen as dynamic pandemic fighters, despite the catastrophic Covid response. Regardless, the whole world now can see a mockery by intergovernmental bodies ignoring their own rules. What is left of international rule of law?
Have governments realized that they have been misled by repetitive G20, WHO, and the World Bank’s messages that there would be more harmful pandemics to come and that the world urgently needs new pandemic agreements? If they return to their senses, there may still be time for them to use Article 56(5) IHR to raise disagreement with the WHO’s interpretation of Article 55(2) to the coming WHA, demanding a deferral of the vote until legal requirements are fulfilled.

5. In the event of a dispute between WHO and one or more States Parties concerning the interpretation or application of these Regulations, the matter shall be submitted to the Health Assembly.
If they fail, their only appropriate option will be to massively vote against both pandemic texts at the 78th WHA.

Facebook researchers have found that 1 in 8 of the app’s users report engaging in compulsive use of social media that affects their sleep, work, parenting or relationships, and the problems were perceived by users to be worse on Facebook than any other major social-media platform, according to documents reviewed by The Wall Street Journal. The documents highlight the company’s research into the possible negative impacts on the day-to-day lives of a broad swath of users. The WHO’s Proposed Pandemic Agreements Worsen Public Health

Much has been written on the current proposals putting the World Health Organization (WHO) front and center of future pandemic responses. With billions of dollars in careers, salaries, and research funding on the table, it is difficult for many to be objective. However, there are fundamentals here that everyone with public health training should agree upon. Most others, if they take time to consider, would also agree. Including, when divorced from party politicking and soundbites, most politicians.
So here, from an orthodox public health standpoint, are some problems with the proposals on pandemics to be voted on at the World Health Assembly at the end of this month.
Unfounded Messaging on Urgency
The Pandemic Agreement (treaty) and IHR amendments have been promoted based on claims of a rapidly increasing risk of pandemics. In fact, they pose an ‘existential threat’ (i.e. one that may end our existence) according to the G20’s High Level Independent Panel in 2022. However, the increase in reported natural outbreaks on which the WHO, the World Bank, G20, and others based these claims is shown to be unfounded in a recent analysis from the UK’s University of Leeds. The main database on which most outbreak analyses rely, the GIDEON database, shows a reduction in natural outbreaks and resultant mortality over the past 10 to 15 years, with the prior increase between 1960 and 2000 fully consistent with the development of the technologies necessary to detect and record such outbreaks; PCR, antigen and serology tests, and genetic sequencing.
The WHO does not refute this but simply ignores it. Nipah viruses, for example, only ‘emerged’ in the late 1990s when we found ways to actually detect them. Now we can readily distinguish new variants of coronavirus to promote uptake of pharmaceuticals. The risk does not change by detecting them; we just change the ability to notice them. We also have the ability to modify viruses to make them worse – this is a relatively new problem. But do we really want an organization influenced by China, with North Korea on its executive board (insert your favorite geopolitical rivals), to manage a future bioweapons emergency?
Irrespective of growing evidence that Covid-19 was not a natural phenomenon, modelling that the World Bank quotes as suggesting a 3x increase in outbreaks over the next decade actually predicts that a Covid-like event will recur less than once per century. Diseases that the WHO uses to suggest an increase in outbreaks over the past 20 years, including cholera, plague, yellow fever, and influenza variants were orders of magnitude worse in past centuries.
This all makes it doubly confusing that the WHO is breaking its own legal requirements in order to push through a vote without Member States having time to properly review implications of the proposals. The urgency must be for reasons other than public health need. Others can speculate why, but we are all human and all have egos to protect, even when preparing legally binding international agreements.
Low Relative Burden
The burden (e.g. death rate or life years lost) of acute outbreaks is a fraction of the overall disease burden, far lower than many endemic infectious diseases such as malaria, HIV, and tuberculosis, and a rising burden of non-communicable disease. Few natural outbreaks over the past 20 years have resulted in more than 1,000 deaths – or 8 hours of tuberculosis mortality. Higher-burden diseases should dominate public health priorities, however dull or unprofitable they may seem.
With the development of modern antibiotics, major outbreaks from the big scourges of the past like Plague and typhus ceased to occur. Though influenza is caused by a virus, most deaths are also due to secondary bacterial infections. Hence, we have not seen a repeat of the Spanish flu in over a century. We are better at healthcare than we used to be and have improved nutrition (generally) and sanitation. Widespread travel has eliminated the risks of large immunologically naive populations, making our species more immunologically resilient. Cancer and heart disease may be increasing, but infectious diseases overall are declining. So where should we focus?
Lack of Evidence Base
Investment in public health requires both evidence (or high likelihood) that the investment will improve outcomes and an absence of significant harm. The WHO has demonstrated neither with their proposed interventions. Neither has anyone else. The lockdown and mass vaccination strategy promoted for Covid-19 resulted in a disease that predominantly affects elderly sick people leading to 15 million excess deaths, even increasing mortality in young adults. In past acute respiratory outbreaks, things got better after one or perhaps two seasons, but with Covid-19 excess mortality persisted.
Within public health, this would normally mean we check whether the response caused the problem. Especially if it’s a new type of response, and if past understanding of disease management predicted that it would. This is more reliable than pretending that past knowledge did not exist. So again, the WHO (and other public-private partnerships) are not following orthodox public health, but something quite different.
Centralization for a Highly Heterogeneous Problem
Twenty-five years ago, before private investors became so interested in public health, it was accepted that decentralization was sensible. Providing local control to communities that could then prioritize and tailor health interventions themselves can provide better outcomes. Covid-19 underlined the importance of this, showing how uneven the impact of an outbreak is, determined by population age, density, health status, and many other factors. To paraphrase the WHO, ‘Most people are safe, even when some are not.’
However, for reasons that remain unclear to many, the WHO decided that the response for a Toronto aged care resident and a young mother in a Malawian village should be essentially the same – stop them from meeting family and working, then inject them with the same patented chemicals. The WHO’s private sponsors, and even the two largest donor countries with their strong pharmaceutical sectors, agreed with this approach. So too did the people paid to implement it. It was really only history, common sense, and public health ethics that stood in the way, and they proved much more malleable.
Absence of Prevention Strategies Through Host Resilience
The WHO IHR amendments and Pandemic Agreement are all about detection, lockdowns, and mass vaccination. This would be good if we had nothing else. Fortunately, we do. Sanitation, better nutrition, antibiotics, and better housing halted the great scourges of the past. An article in the journal Nature in 2023 suggested that just getting vitamin D at the right level may have cut Covid-19 mortality by a third. We already knew this and can speculate on why it became controversial. It’s really basic immunology.
Nonetheless, nowhere within the proposed US$30+ billion annual budget is any genuine community and individual resilience supported. Imagine putting a few billion more into nutrition and sanitation. Not only would you dramatically reduce mortality from occasional outbreaks, but more common infectious diseases, and metabolic diseases such as diabetes and obesity, would also go down. This would actually reduce the need for pharmaceuticals. Imagine a pharmaceutical company, or investor, promoting that. It would be great for public health, but a suicidal business approach.
Conflicts of Interest
All of which brings us, obviously, to conflicts of interest. The WHO, when formed, was essentially funded by countries through a core budget, to address high-burden diseases on country request. Now, with 80% of its use of funds specified directly by the funder, its approach is different. If that Malawian village could stump up tens of millions for a program, they would get what they ask for. But they don’t have that money; Western countries, Pharma, and software moguls do.
Most people on earth would grasp that concept far better than a public health workforce heavily incentivized to think otherwise. This is why the World Health Assembly exists and has the ability to steer the WHO in directions that don’t harm their populations. In its former incarnation, the WHO considered conflict of interest to be a bad thing. Now, it works with its private and corporate sponsors, within the limits set by its Member States, to mold the world to their liking.
The Question Before Member States
To summarize, while it’s sensible to prepare for outbreaks and pandemics, it’s even more sensible to improve health. This involves directing resources to where the problems are and using them in a way that does more good than harm. When people’s salaries and careers become dependent on changing reality, reality gets warped. The new pandemic proposals are very warped. They are a business strategy, not a public health strategy. It is the business of wealth concentration and colonialism – as old as humanity itself.
The only real question is whether the majority of the Member States of the World Health Assembly, in their voting later this month, wish to promote a lucrative but rather amoral business strategy, or the interests of their people.

Although the diagnostic designation CKM only materialized last fall, according to recently released data from the Journal of the American Medical Association, a full 90% of Americans might be afflicted.

A 90% diagnosis rate for a newborn medical condition impacting multiple organs simultaneously would seem to beg for deep, deliberate, comprehensive reflection within the medical community — the kind of sweeping mobilization of resources seen during Operation Warp Speed — to ferret out root causes, which in other contexts, like mass migration, the likes of the Karamel-uh entity are exceptionally curious about.
…Unless, of course, true healthcare isn’t the overriding objective of the brand of institutionalized, corporatized “healthcare” championed by the governing authorities and industry.
One doesn’t require an epidemiology degree to get the sense that whatever is triggering functional meltdowns in multiple organs at once in 90% of a population is probably something coming from a source ubiquitous in the environment, like the food supply, or the water, or the tip of a syringe filled with a certain experimental gene therapy — or all three at once.

What they are interested in, and what we can expect coming down the pipeline, is new patented drugs for CMK to the great ecstasy of Pfizer and Merck shareholders.
“An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure” is anathema to the industry’s business model, so what we get is the inverse paradigm.
