NAZARETH, (PIC)– Head of the National Democratic Alliance, Dr. Jamal Zahalka, said that Israeli authorities will not agree to the proposal of Ahmed Qurei, head of the Jerusalem affairs department in the PLO, who called for the establishment of an Israeli-Palestinian bi-national state.

Zahalka said that this proposal was presented previously by Qurei, to threaten the Israeli authorities and not as a solution to the political current situation.

Zahalka pointed out that re-presenting Qurei’s proposal again came as a threat to the Israeli occupation, in light of the difficult political situation experienced by the Palestinian cause.

During his interview with Quds Press Agency, MK Zahalka called on the Ramallah authority not to replace struggle and resistance against the occupation by political projects and negotiations.

It is impossible that the Israeli authorities could agree to a one-state solution, especially that it came as a pressure to resume to negotiations, the MK added.

The Israeli solution is represented in dividing the West Bank into two parts one for the Palestinians and one for the Israeli settlers, Zahalka explained, noting that it is impossible for the Palestinians to accept this Israeli extremist solution.

He predicted that the settlement activity would escalate in the West Bank during the coming period, pointing out that “Israel” exploits the negotiations to escalate its settlement activity, to impose a new reality.

Zahalka added that settlement activity would increase as long as there were no American, European, Arab, or Palestinian pressures practiced on the Israeli occupation to prevent its continuing settlement activities.
