THE death toll from last week’s fire at a Quakers Hill nursing home has risen to 10, after An 87-year-old man died in Westmead Hospital last night.


A post mortem examination will be conducted in the next few days to determine a cause of death, police said today.

Three elderly residents died in the November 18 fire, and seven others have now died in various Sydney hospitals.

A 35-year-old Roger Dean, who was employed as a registered nurse at the home, is currently before the courts on eight murder charges related to the fire. The case has been adjourned until February 16

Hundreds of mourners gathered at Quakers Hill’s local Anglican church on Thursday for a memorial service for the nine elderly victims.
