Remains of missing woman found in WA

Human remains believed to be those of missing woman Veronica Kaye Messina have been found in bushland in Western Australia’s Goldfields region.

Ms Messina, 62, was last seen about 2pm on June 25 and was reported missing on June 28.

Police conducted a land search on Saturday where they found human remains believed to belong to the woman.

A 51-year-old man is assisting police with their inquiries.

The same man was charged on Friday with several counts of stealing from Ms Messina’s bank account and one count of driving while suspended.

Police allege he stole money from Ms Messina’s bank account between June 26 and June 30, using her transaction card at various locations in Perth.

They also allege he used her Holden Commodore sedan, leaving it at Kalgoorlie Airport on June 26.
