A teenager is being investigated over the murder of his father in the Adelaide hills.

Graham Mieglich, 56, was shot dead in his home at Charleston on Tuesday night or early Wednesday.

Police say his 19-year-old son Christopher is the only person of interest in the murder case.

The teenager has been charged with attempting to murder another man at Gumeracha in the hills last month.

The young man has faced Adelaide Magistrates Court over that incident and been remanded in custody.

Detective Inspector Mark Trenwith said police were investigating any connection between the two cases.

“Detectives are currently exploring all avenues of inquiry in relation to the linkages between these two events,” he told reporters.

“The investigation is at a delicate stage but what I can say is the man arrested over the Gumeracha shooting is a person of interest in relation to the shooting of the man at Charleston.”
