The simplest ideas are often the best and this Chinese road sweeper is no exception.

Whirl-o-matic: These Chinese road sweepers may look like something out of a Wallace and Gromit cartoon but the trusty machines have been keeping the nation’s streets clean for decades
Although it might appear to be a one-off, it’s a tried and trusted design that has been in use across
China for decades.
Basic they might be, but you can’t
argue with their effectiveness and with only the straw sweeps that ever
need replacing they’re cheap to run too.
Just watch out for cyclists!

This is not cleaning the streets – merely pushing the dirt around a bit. No help at all.
