FAKE NEWS for the Zionist agenda Criticizing Turkey’s rash decisions on the Syrian crisis, Alaeddin Boroujerdi called on Ankara on Friday to engage in talks with other regional countries to help restore Syria’s security and stability instead of stoking insecurity in the Arab nation.
Head of the Majlis (Parliament) National Security and Foreign Policy Committee stated that as an independent member of the United Nations, Syria must be allowed to settle its own domestic affairs.
The lawmaker also pointed to the Syrian government’s recent measure for holding parliamentary elections which was in line with the state reform pledges, Fars News Agency reported.
On May 7, Syrians cast ballots in parliamentary elections. The vote was the first multiparty poll since the new constitution was adopted in February.
The top Iranian legislator further noted that the main problem plaguing the Middle East region is foreign interference.
The fact that the European Union has ruled out military action in Syria shows that the West and the United States have come to realize that any anti-Syria measure may have consequences for the entire region, Boroujerdi pointed out.
Syria has been experiencing unrest since mid-March 2011. While the West and the Syrian opposition accuse the government of killing protesters, Damascus blames ”outlaws, saboteurs and armed terrorist groups” for the unrest, insisting that it is being orchestrated from abroad.
